Link's New Journey by Thacia Diamon chapter 1: the Dream Link walked around the guards as easily as he had when he was a child. These gaurds wouldn't be able to see a hurricane coming at them at full speed without going, 'hurricane. Bad. Solution.......Run.' They were the kinda guys that saw 50 rubies but said, "OH! I want a peanut! There brain would say, '50 rubies can be exchanged for lot's of peanuts!' They would reply, "explain!' Link chuckled as he slipped by the last guard and made it to the Courtyard. Princess Zelda was sitting there, watching out the window. Link drew in his breath. She looked even more beautiful then she was a ten. He walked around the planted flowers and cleared his throat. Zelda spun around on her seat, for she had become wary after Ganondorf's attack. Then her face lit up, "Link!" She got up and gave him a friendly hug. He gave her one of his slow smiles. "I was just thinking about you!" the Princess said. He nodded and Navi zipped around behind him."Watch out!" Link whipped around drawing his sword. A younger version of Ganondorf crashed through the wall and looked at Zelda. Then he gathered a fireball and shot it at her. "NOO!" Link jerked up. He looked around wildly and felt for his sword then he realized it was only a dream. Navi fluttered nearby."Another dream?" She asked. Link nodded and raised a hand to his head. "I keep getting these visions"-"You mean your actually going to tell it to me," Navi said sarcastically. Link sighed. He hadn't been telling Navi about his visions and she was a good friend. He didn't know why he hadn't told her. Maybe he was just so sub-conscious of these dreams. "-Where I'm visiting Princess Zelda and Ganondorf only younger, crashes through the castle and hurts Zelda and then I wake up. Your there, you warn me put I'm too...late to help her, and...and.' He stuttered at the end."Oh," Navi said. She landed on the bed post, "why don't you visit her?" He looked at Navi who just glowed the same way. She really did want to know. "I'm afraid that if I go, my visions will come true." "That never stopped you before," Navi said silently."No," He said, "It didn't." He laid back down and prepared to go visit Zelda the next day. chapter 2: The visit He walked down the guard's path again. He had barely managed to squeeze into the water passage. He was almost too big. He nudged his pack. Navi came fluttering out. They crept by the last guards, who of course could not hear or see a thing. Link was angry, 'anyone could get by here!' he thought. He got around the flowerbed and saw Zelda. She was positioned the same way as in his dream. He made a slight noise and she turned around. Same as before. "Link!" She said, eyes brightening. He felt sick. Everything was happening just as in his dream. He dashed foreword and grabbed Zelda's hand. "Link! What's going on!" Zelda Cried. He pulled her around and jumped out the window with her. She screamed and demanded to know what was happening. He caught her as they reached the ground. Then he played Epona's song and they dashed out of there. He looked back and saw that he'd gotten her out of there just in time. He could hear Ganondorf's frustration as he saw that she wasn't around. "LINK!" He shouted. Zelda was looking back too and thanked Link for getting her out. They headed for the Temple of Time at a slow canter. Zelda was scared. She had always new that there was still some evil left in Hyrule. "Link," She sought words but none came out. "I'll keep you safe," He said and dismounted as they reached the temple. It was ruined. The engraved stone crushed. He had cast a force to protect all the temple's but it looked like there was something out there stronger than Nayru's love, and if there was it would almost impossible for him to beat this force. Zelda looked grief-stricken. "This was the visiting day, there were people in this temple." Zelda said softly, "It's my fault." "No it isn't!" Navi said. The first thing she'd had to say sense they'd reached the castle. She flew on ahead and caught sight of the brown mummies around the corner. Zelda cast a spell to keep them sealed in red ice. She knew that there were more than twenty mummies and that most of them were people that had been staying at the temple. People who had come to seek peace. A single tear rolled down Zelda's cheek. She brushed it off and checked the back of the temple, where the master sword had been kept. She gasped as she saw the child. chapter 3: the Child "Link!" Zelda shouted, "there's a little girl here! She must have survived the attack!" The girl flinched at her loud words. Link and Navi appeared behind Zelda and the girl fled. She was surprisingly quick and she dived into a hole in the wall. It was too small for Link to get through. Navi dashed in. There was lot's of scattered debris around in the hole. "She's going to get away!" Zelda cried. "Do you see her Navi?!" Link asked. Navi said yes and moved closer to the girl. She pressed far against the wall. Navi caught sight of a brown bag. She found a picture of the girl with worn words. It looked like it said Thacia, so that's what she decided to call the girl. "Hello," she called, Thacia, my name is Navi." The little girl made no movement put curled into a little ball and tried to get as far away from Navi as possible. She brushed at her tangled blond hair that was a little bit past her shoulders and scratched at her brown tunic. Her blue eyes stared at Navi and she had dirt smudges on her face and arms. Navi decided to chase her out. She flew fast at her and just as Navi expected she ran for the hole again. She dived out it and Link snagged her as she tried to get away. She screamed and flailed her arms and sent out viscous kicks but Link held firm. "Shhhh," Zelda whispered. Eventually Thacia calmed down but refused to say a thing. They took her to Kokiri Forest and went into the Lost woods. All the Kokiri children gasped at Zelda and she tried her best to smile and act gracious like her father had taught her. Saria looked at Thacia and tried talking to her but she would not say a thing. Zelda tried also, "Thacia what happened there! How did this all happen, we don't know..." The girl's expression didn't change and Zelda was beginning to think that she was mute. Saria and Zelda walked off giving up on Thacia. Thacia walked away from them and wandered out the lost woods. Link who returned from talking to the Deku sprout was the first to notice she was gone. He went after her and brought her back kicking and screaming. He plopped her down on Saria's log and getting annoyed walked away to join the rest then turned around and thought he should at least get her to try and trust him. He squatted down so he was level with her. "Thacia, we need to know..." He pulled out one of his old dungeon maps and got it wet. He cleaned her up and about 15 minutes later after he was done wiping her face and harms he said, "I can't believe there's a little girl under all this. Thacia"- "Ne...' the girl said. "Huh?" Link asked surprised that she had said anything. "No," Thacia said, "everyone calls me Thace." "Thace," Link tried it out and decided he liked it, "okay Thace will you answer some questions?" By now Princess Zelda and Saria had come along. Link looked up and saw Zelda's pleased look. Saria just looked a little mystified. She'd always been good and getting the best out of people, but now it was Link who had gotten her to talk. "I guess we should do introductions, I'm Link, this is Saria and princess Zelda." Link said. "Zelda's fine," Zelda added, not caring for formal names. "I'm Thace," Thace whispered. They nodded all at the same time. "Do you have a mom?" Zelda asked. There was no reply just a silent stare. Zelda looked at Link who through up his hands in a 'who knows' gesture. 'Ask her' Zelda mouthed to him. "Do you have a mom, Thace?" Link asked. Thace nodded looking at them. She reached into her bag and pulled out a stuffed bunny. She hugged it. "Do you have a dad, sisters, brothers?" Link asked. "A dad," Thace said softly. "Where are they Thace!" Zelda asked. The girl turned and looked at Zelda a look of hatred coming over her sweet little girl features, "There dead! Can I go now!?" Thace yelled. Zelda got a pained look on her face. She sat back on another tree stump. "Don't you think you'd be safer with us? He's the hero of time, Zelda's a princess and I'm a sage! We could"- Saria was cut off by Thace."You don't get it do you? They're everywhere now! You could be every sage, princess and hero wrapped up in one and you would still struggle to stand up after one of his blows! It won't make any difference." Thace said fiercely, "15 seconds for him to kill or mummify every person in there. It would take 12 days for a normal person to find us, it will take him twelve hours. You'd better find a hiding place like I did and just hope everything works out. It doesn't matter who you are, nothing you do will make any difference." Zelda and Saria sat back heavily along with Link. Navi just floated. chapter 4: The Family Tie Link rode swiftly back towards the castle. Thace, who he and everyone else was calling Newt, and the others were still in Kokiri forest. Everything seemed normal. Thace had said that there was no hope for Hyrule, but he couldn't just give up hope like she had. But, then again, she had seen him in action and he might be just as powerful as she'd said. How could he be so powerful? They'd taken the triforce and hidden it somewhere in the Spirit Temple so no one could find it or try to take it. And it was still there. Could he mentally channel power from it? If so this would be difficult. He looked around and saw that everything was normal. The red swirl on Death mountain was still gone and Zora's domain wasn't frozen. All the other temples were fine. He didn't understand. Was there to be only one attack? What had happened to all the tension that he had felt Hyrule holding just yesterday? He reached the castle and as he galloped through the bazaar he noticed a little change in the attitude of the people there. It was no longer quite as happy as it was before. When he reached the castle gate the sky darkened. He tried to rein in Epona but she kept rearing up! Eventually he fell of her. She galloped away. "Epona!" He called. Then the younger Ganondorf appeared, "Yes," he said reading Link's thoughts, "You did seal my father but no, you weren't expecting him to have a son!' Link gasped. What a twist of fate, to have a family tie between Ganondorf and Hyrule. Then the younger Ganondorf attacked. 'Same name if your wondering,' He sneered through ESP. He blasted Link around for a while. Navi came out and gave Link targeting. He shot a few arrows at Ganondorf but he just batted them away. Link was absolutely powerless and he felt it when he lost consciousness. When he woke up Gonondorf was gone. Instead there was Epona and Navi. He tried sitting up but found a harsh and bitter pain in his chest. He gasped and coughed up blood. "Link!" Navi cried, "Don't move, I'll get help, I'll get Zelda and Newt!" "NO!" Link cried as Navi flew away, "That's what he wants!" But Navi was already gone. All Link could do was lie there. There were no fairies to revive him and nothing he could use to get his strength and health back. About half an hour later Newt and Zelda appeared. "Oh Link!" Zelda cried raising a hand to her mouth, "What happened?!" Link tried sitting up again but the same pain was still there and it forced him back down. "How bad is it?" He asked but it resulted in him coughing up more blood. Zelda shook her head in fear. Link grimaced. Zelda was never fragile; it must have been really bad. Link raised a hand and held out the ocarina of time. "No, no, no!" Zelda moaned, "no," "You're going to need it," Link said softly. Thace crept up. She had been hanging back for a while. 'Hi NEWT," Link said, he knew she hated that name and he had been calling her that for a while now, just to tick the 7 year old off, "how did you sleep last night?" "I had bad dreams," She replied shakily. Link didn't know what to do. From the way everyone was acting it seemed like he was dying. The Newt was getting scared and surely Ganondorf would get Zelda if he were gone. He grimaced again. "Why don't you be like your bunny, I bet she doesn't have bad dreams," He tried to act cheery for the Newt. "Carrie doesn't have bad dreams cause she's just fur and plastic," Thace said in a practical tone, with a hint of an English accent. "Sorry..." Link said. He could here his own voice getting softer. "Link!" Zelda cried. 'It'll be okay," link reassured her. "NO!" She cried again. "I have a present for you Link," Thace said. Link turned his head to look at her; unable to say anything anymore, he wanted her to know her was listening.'It's a surprise." She reached into her backpack, "I was going to give it to my mom for her birthday, but I think you need it more than she did." She popped open the lid a bottle and gave it to Link. A fairy sailed out of it and restored all of Link's health at the same time scaring the Newt away. She ran and stumbled away from the death scene that was behind her. Her parent's had died the same way. She ran out into the middle of Hyrule field. Then she heard twigs snapping. She stopped running. "Newt!" Link's voice was far away, "where are you!" Thace turned her head around away from the bazaar. She heard raspy breathing. "NEWT!" Link's voice was close now, "NEWT LOOK OUT!!" A blue barrier separated Zelda Navi and Link from Thace. "Link," thace whimpered clutching her bunny. "Strange, isn't this world falling apart, and some family ties, we have a new leader Ganondorf's son...Ganondorf, and we have Link's little cousin, who he calls...NEWT!" A voice rasped. Link put on his amazed face at hearing this, "My cousin..." The raspy voice continued in mockery, "You mean you didn't know!" it said as a vine caught hold of Thace's foot and pulled her feet out from under her, "What irony! You must have wondered what your father was like, and how many sisters and brothers he had, and how many DAUGHTERS they had!! This is so sad! Your all each other has in a family. HA HA! The two cousin's reunite over one's death! HA hA hA!" A weird looking monster jumped into the protective field and grabbed Newt. "LINK!!" She screamed, but as hard as Link pounded and struck the barrier it wouldn't give way. Then it started closing in on the two. "HELP ME LINK!" Thace screamed. Link shouted in frustration, as he couldn't reach her. The two started to disappear. "THACE! THACIA!!" he yelled. It was too late and they disappeared altogether, leaving the Zelda Link and Navi by themselves on the field.
