Zelda's Kidnapping by Rachel_13 Five years after Quest for the Sages and almost four after Recovery of the Triforce, our story opens with Jjin and Mirah... In the country of Hyrule, there was a fairly large town, also called Hyrule. Within the town's boundaries, there was a temple, and in the distance one in the town could see Hyrule's palace, North Castle. Also in the town was a house in the back alleys, which housed a man, his wife, and their three children. This is where our story begins... The children, no more than four years of age, were gathered around a fire, where their father sat in front of them. "Daddy, will you tell us a story?" said the girl, Gwen. The two boys, Len and Pen, nodded their heads. Their father looked at them grinning. "Well, ok. What would you like to hear?" He asked. "The one about how you met mommy!" Gwen exclaimed. Their mother looked in from the kitchen and smiled as her husband started telling his story. "Oh, you want to hear it again? Don't you want him to tell a different story?" She asked the children. They shook their heads. "We want to hear that one. Daddy doesn't mind, do you daddy?" Len asked. "No I don't. I'd love to tell you again." The father said. "Now Jjin, don't go and bore the kids to death. Kids, the reason your father doesn't mind telling the story is because he's just proud that he knows the future king of Hyrule." The wife said jokingly. "Now Mirah, that has nothing to do with my pride and you know it." Jjin told her, also jokingly. Mirah rolled her eyes. She loved being with Jjin, but sometimes he was too much, even for himself. "C'mon! Tell us the story already!" Len exclaimed. "Alright, alright. Now, I was in the market, right here in Hyrule town, when a man came in from the castle road. He-" Jjin was cut off by a knocking on the door. "I'll get it Jjin, don't get up." Mirah told him. She came back a moment later with a piece of paper in her hand. "Jjin, this is for you." Mirah told him, handing him the paper. "It's a formal invitation to Link and Zelda's wedding. We're all invited." Jjin said. "Oh, good! When is it?" Mirah inquired. Jjin looked at the paper. "It says that the wedding is going to be in three days." Jjin replied. "We have plenty of time to prepare. What are we going to get them as a wedding present?" Mirah said to him. "I have no idea, well, not yet at least." Jjin muttered. Meanwhile, at the castle, things were quite busy indeed. Link and Zelda had just sent out invitations to their wedding, to at least half of Hyrule's entire population. All of the sages, including Ruto for some reason, were invited, as well as the Kokiri, the Zoras, the Gorons, Jjin and Mirah. Niyadah was also invited, although they hadn't known where to send the invitation. In all, it was going to be huge. Link and Zelda were being fitted with their attire for the wedding and the castle was being kept in top order. ____________________________________________________ Ganon had not been heard from in the past year, since he escaped and was sent away from Hyrule by the power of the Triforce, but Link was sure he was up to something. He pointed this out to Zelda that evening. "I can't help but think that Ganon is planning something, We haven't heard from him in a while, and I have learned that he's most dangerous when he's silent." He said. Zelda looked up at him. "Maybe so, but don't let that thought ruin things for us." She said. Then Link leaned down a little and kissed her. Ganon, at that moment, was actually planning something. "Are the plans flawless?" He asked one of his minions. "Y-yes sir. All of the faults have been eliminated that can be avoided." Said Eeris, Ganon's second in command. "Good. I want this to be perfect. Revenge on that dratted Link and his precious princess is as good as mine!" A day later Jjin and Mirah were in the market looking for the perfect gift. Mirah pointed out many lovely gifts, and finally Jjin spotted a seemingly perfect present. It was a beautiful crystal vas. It was carved with small designs. "That was made by the best carvers in all of Hyrule. A neighboring country imported the crystal used to make it. It won't go at a cheap price." The woman selling it said. Jjin pulled quite a large amount of rupees out of his pocket and handed it to her. She handed him the vas. "Hope you like it. He he he." "That was a marvelous choice Jjin! They'll love it!" Mirah cried when they got home. "Daddy! WOW! Where did you get that?" Gwen asked pointing to the vas. "It's a wedding gift for Link and Zelda. I bought it at the market today." Jjin told her. Len and Pen came up to him. "You never finished your story." Pen said. Jjin laughed. "Why don't you wait and I'll let Link tell it to you with me?" "Deal!" Pen said. It was the day of the wedding, and Ganon was watching through his magic orb with distaste. "I've always hated weddings. Why can't they have a funeral-Link's funeral-instead?" He muttered to himself. Eeris shrugged. "I hate weddings too. Funerals are much more pleasant." He said. ____________________________________________________ In the castle, guests were coming and going through the rooms. Jjin and Mirah dragged their kids along as they went to find Link or Zelda. There were a few Zoras, Gorons, and Kokirians running around all over the place, but there were mostly Hylians. Standing by the castle drawbridge was a little Kokiri girl. She had brown hair and blue-green eyes. No one knew her; she had been living alone for a long time. She went in and bumped right into Jjin and Pen. "Hey, watch where you're going girl!" Pen said. Jjin looked down at her. "Hello, who are you?" He asked. "I'm Aerin, a Kokiri. Who are you?" She said to Jjin. "I'm Jjin, and this is my son Pen. That is Mirah, Len and Gwen." He told her. Aerin nodded. Her faerie sat on her shoulder and whispered something in her ear. Aerin nodded again. "My faerie says you look familiar. Do you know Alexis?" Aerin asked. Jjin nodded. Mirah came up to him. "I'm glad I found you." She said. "Who's this?" She asked pointing to Aerin. "I'm Aerin. This is my faerie Alexis." Aerin explained. "We've met before." Mirah said, looking at Alexis. "You found your way back to the forest I presume?" Mirah asked Alexis. "Yes I did, and I'm a guardian faerie again!" Alexis yelled, since that's the only way she could talk to Hylians. "Now, why are you glad to see me?" Jjin asked, turning to Mirah. "I found Link. I thought you may like to know, because he wants to see you." She replied. Jjin nodded. "Lead the way darling." He walked quickly after Mirah, dragging Pen behind him. Gwen was awestruck. She had never seen anything this big in her entire life of four years. Len was no better. He tried countless times to get away from Mirah, but she held his hand firmly. He looked over at a room with a yellow door. I wonder what's in that room. He thought. He longed to get away from his mother for a moment so he could go explore. Pen was a little more well behaved, but not much. He kept staring at the Zoras and pointing at the Gorons. "You should know better than to point or stare." Mirah preached to him. "But they're so funny looking!" Pen argued. "That's no reason to hurt their feelings. On the inside, they're exactly like us." Mirah added. The family came to a room with guards posted outside. "Who are you and what's your business here?" One of the guards asked. "I'm Jjin. Link said he needed to see me." Jjin replied. "Okay. Who are the rest of these people?" The other guard inquired. "This is my wife Mirah and these are our kids, Len, Gwen, and Pen." He said. The guards let them go through, and they found themselves in a very large room, with Link sitting in a chair. "Well, Jjin! Long time no see!" He exclaimed upon seeing him in the doorway. "Same to you Link. I believe you know my wife Mirah." Jjin said to him. "Really? There was a wedding, and I wasn't invited?" Link looked at Jjin with a fake look of hurt in his eyes. "Well, actually, it was private. We didn't want any of our varied enemies coming, so it was only family." Jjin explained. "I see you're doing pretty well too." He added. "Yes I am." Link told him. "We forgot the vas, didn't we?" Mirah whispered into Jjin's ear. "Yes, I forgot all about it!" Jjin replied, also in a whisper. ____________________________________________________ Just then a messenger came into the room. "Sir, we're ready to begin." He said to Link. "Well, I'll be right there. See you all after the service." Link told Jjin and Mirah. Then he left the room. "Daddy, are you looking for this?" Gwen asked, holding up the vas Jjin had bought. "Yes! You remembered to bring it, even if we didn't." Gwen beamed with pride, and then sent a snide look to Pen. "Here you go Daddy." She said, giving the vas to him. Jjin placed it on a table full of gifts and took his family to be seated. Ganon was looking at a table with many boxes, bags, etc on it. He was getting agitated at not being able to see Zelda or Link. He got up and went up to his other spying utensil, his magic orb. "Show me that cursed Link and his little princess Zelda, I command you." He said to it. Suddenly it began to glow, and it showed Link standing outside. "Soon, Link, you will be mine to torture. Just wait until I put my plan into action. Enjoy today with your wretched princess, for tomorrow she will be gone. Ha ha ha!" He cried. Zelda didn't know why, but a feeling of dread had settled over her. I must be nervous. Link got to me last night with that stuff about Ganon planning something, she thought to herself. Nothing could go wrong on a day like this, the sun was shining and the first signs of spring were arriving. Zelda smiled to herself, shaking off the feeling, and went on fixing her dress. Link was talking to some of the people outside. Jjin and Mirah weren't there yet but he knew they'd be here any moment. Just as he thought of that, Jjin, Mirah and their kids came in the room. "And here they are now! Men, this is Jjin and Mirah, my comrades from the time we had to defeat three wizards and their pet," he stopped a moment and snickered at its name, "Gnoraf." Jjin nodded. "Thank you for the recognition. I really didn't do that much to help." Link rolled his eyes. "Nonsense! Without you and Mirah, we would have been killed by that old Iron Knuckle, remember?" Jjin looked surprised. "Well, yes I remember. It wasn't really too hard to distract it. Just throw a couple insults at it and it comes at you." He said. Mirah rolled her eyes. "Good thing you didn't tell that story incredibly accurately. The kids would be repeating that far into the future." She said. Zelda was ready, and the wedding had started. She waited in her tent to go out. She heard the signal and exited the tent. Link thought she looked absolutely radiant. She smiled at him and he smiled back. The priest started talking and the wedding went by in what felt like a matter of seconds. Soon Link and Zelda were saying their "I do's" and the wedding was over. I'm not going to go in to incredible detail because that's not the plot of the story, ok? ____________________________________________________ Well, meanwhile Ganon was still watching them. "Look at them, so happy, so gullible, so-" "Yes sir, I get the point. I must admit that you're obsessed with them." Eeris interrupted. "So?! They ruined my life, not to mention my afterlife! I just keep thinking about how good it'll feel to ruin theirs. Revenge will be mine! All mine!" Ganon yelled. Eeris covered his face. "Y-yes sir. I hadn't thought of that. Well, the plan is ready to put into action, just as soon as you give the signal." After the wedding, there was a feast. There were men telling their stories and their wives listening intently. Zelda and Mirah were the exception to this. Mirah was almost asleep and Zelda was too busy with words of congratulations to listen. She had heard most of Link's stories anywise, as had Mirah with Jjin's. Ganon got bored at watching them so he went and did something else, I don't know what. What do you think I am, a psychic? "That was a lovely service." Mirah said to Jjin. He nodded. Then the king came through. "Hello Your Majesty. How are you?" Jjin said. "Fine, thank you Jjin. I see you're doing well for yourself." The king replied. Jjin nodded. Suddenly a figure stood in the door. "Forgive my tardiness, apparently your messenger didn't know where to leave my invitation, I just got it today." The shadowed figure came into the light, a Gerudo woman about 23 years old. "Niyadah, you came after all!" Mirah said. "Yes I did, sorry I missed the ceremony. But for the love of Nayru, I wouldn't miss what I didn't have to!" Niyadah exclaimed. "Well sit down Niyadah." The king offered. "Thank you sir, I think I will." Niyadah said, taking a seat at the end of the main table. I won't bore you with tiny details, the people there mostly chattered about their accomplishments and about nothing of importance. ____________________________________________________ When the feast was done with, it was getting dark outside. "You're welcome to stay at the castle, there are plenty of guest rooms." Link offered to Jjin and Mirah. "I think I'd be delighted to take up your offer." Jjin said. Mirah nodded in agreement. "That would be wonderful." She agreed. " Almost time, I'm getting excited!" Eeris exclaimed. Ganon was pacing back and forth in the cave, while Eeris took out some tools and called the people needed for Ganon's plan. There was the wizards' sister, Karin, who needed to be taken care of, along with the black faeries. "How will we get rid of that Karin person sir?" Eeris inquired. "We will kill her, obviously!" Ganon screeched. Eeris nodded dumbly. It was morning, but it was still quite dark. Link got up and sighed at looking out the window. He thought he had woken up early. Actually, he had woken late. Everyone was at breakfast, but there was a new guest there. "Hello Link." Link looked at her. She had kind of orange hair and purple eyes, but she wasn't a Gerudo. She was a wizard, and he knew it by the aura around her. "Can I speak to you in another room?" She asked him. He nodded and led her into the next room. "Who are you?" He asked. "I'm Karin. About five years ago, you killed my three brothers who were trying to resurrect Ganon." Link looked at her. "I wanted to come here and thank you for that." She continued. "You-you want to thank me for killing your brothers?" Link inquired. Karin nodded. "They were evil." She replied, looking at the floor. "I must also say that Ganon's minions are trying to kill me. I discovered some information that no one was supposed to find. Ganon didn't like that very much." Karin said. "What was the information?" Link asked her. "Something about controlling the weather. Ganon was apparently trying to give Hyrule some flood problems." She replied. He nodded. "I see. This is disturbing. Are you sure he was planning a flood?" "Not really, I just know he's studying up on weather control. I can do that naturally of course, but he needs a bigger set of props." Then they went back into the other room. ____________________________________________________ That morning, a heavy fog settled upon Hyrule. "Maybe this is Ganon's doing." Zelda said to Karin, after Link had explained everything to her. "Maybe. I wouldn't go out in it though. Wait for Link to go with you." "Nonsense, I can go places by myself." Karin nodded. Zelda walked outside, promising not to go too far. She could barely see in front of her. Boy this fog is thick. How did it get here so quickly, she thought. Suddenly a black light surrounded her. "What..." she said. Then she was in a cave, tied up to a column. "Pretty princess. Pretty foolish princess. You thought I was long gone? You were wrong. Here I am, and there you are, about to be tortured. And there's nothing your precious Link can do about it!" Ganon appeared from nowhere. "Ganon! How dare you do this to me! Link will come after me! Or Karin will!" Zelda cried. "Foolish girl! Don't you realize that Link won't know where to come after you?!" Ganon yelled back. "Wait...Karin?! Did you say KARIN? EERIS, COME HERE!" Ganon yelled. "Y-yes sir?" Eeris said. "I thought I told you to get rid of that Karin girl!" Ganon screeched. "I did sir!" "Well, you didn't get rid of her well enough! She's with that brat Link, and she's giving him information. Kill her as soon as possible!" "Yes sir, right away!" At the castle, Link was wondering where Zelda had gone. He saw Karin coming down the hall, so he stopped her. "Karin, Zelda's been gone for quite a while. Do you know where she might have gone?" Link demanded. "Yes, she went out for a walk. She isn't back yet? Link sighed. "I thought you might have known." Karin shook her head. "I can't tell." Just then, Jjin and Mirah came in. "Is something wrong? I haven't seen you look this upset since we fought those wizards." He had noticed that Link looked a little pale and he was very somber. ____________________________________________________ "Zelda's missing." Link replied. "Oh goodness, that's awful!" Mirah gasped. "We have to save her!" Link yelled. "Alright, alright. But I would appreciate if you didn't yell in my ear." Jjin told him, rubbing his ears. "Okay, sorry." Link went to the King immediately. "Zelda has been gone for a long time. I think she may have lost her way, or something else might have happened to her." The King's eyes went wide. "All right Link. You have my permission to find her. You may use anything that may give you assistance." The King said warily. Link nodded. "I'll do whatever it takes to find her." He said. "I'm coming." A voice said. Niyadah stepped from the shadows. "Me too." Jjin said. "I can't come. Someone has to take care of these kids." Mirah said with a sigh. "Can I go with them mommy? Please? I'll be good." Pen said, looking up at her. "Sorry, Pen. You're a little too young. When you're older, you can go on an adventure, I promise." Mirah told the eager boy with a sad smile. "I'm coming. Who knows when you'll need a wizard for something?" Karin said, grinning. Then Aerin came in. "I don't care what you say. I'm coming too." She said stubbornly. "Well, okay. We have to get going as soon as we can." Link said. I hope she's okay, he thought. "Let's go then!" Niyadah said enthusiastically. They all went to the courtyard. They took some time packing saddlebags and attaching them to their horses' saddles. Then they were ready to go. Link saddled Epona, Niyadah mounted her horse Darkstorm, Jjin mounted Hylia, Epona's foal, and Karin mounted her mare Onyx. Aerin got up in the saddle behind Karin. Alexis followed. "Let's go!" Karin yelled, galloping ahead of the others. "Hey! Let's have a race!" Niyadah suggested. She knew her horse was the fastest of any of them, except probably for Hylia. "Sure! First one to the river wins!" Jjin said excitedly. "Ready...set...go!" Karin cried, leaping ahead. Isn't this fun? Karin was in front, but Onyx was slowing rapidly. Niyadah was right behind her, with Hylia's nose at Darkstorm's flank. Just then Onyx stopped altogether. Epona was right behind Hylia, gaining speed. Link was the most experienced rider, next to Niyadah. Hylia and Darkstorm were tied so far, and the river was in sight. Epona was right beside them. "Onyx you fool! You lost the race!" Karin and Aerin yelled. The stubborn horse refused to move. ____________________________________________________ Jjin was urging Hylia to keep going, while Niyadah was ordering Darkstorm to keep up his pace. Epona didn't even look tired. Just then Onyx started to canter, catching Karin unaware. The old horse seemed to laugh. "Don't do that!" Karin said to the horse. Link was about to win when he got quite a shock. 'Link...it's me, Zelda.' Link stopped Epona and looked around. "Where are you Zelda?" He asked. 'I don't know. Ganon's here though.' "Ganon? I thought he was gone!" Link said, maybe a little too loud. Karin looked at him queerly. 'Please help me! I think he's going to kill me. Please!' Then her voice faded out. The race was over. It was a tie. A tie! I can't believe this! I bet $20 on Niyadah winning! Oh well. -Narrator gets out $20 for the person she bet with- Let's get back on the subject here. "So, Link. Earlier you were talking to someone, or something. What was it?" Karin asked. "It was Zelda. She sent me a telepathic message saying Ganon was holding her somewhere. I thought he was gone for good, after what you told me..." He trailed off. "I think it's my fault. I shouldn't have let her go." Karin said. Then she suddenly collapsed on the ground. "Karin!" Aerin yelled. When she woke up, she was at home, her home, but it was different. Everything she had made with her magic was destroyed. On the wall she saw Ganon's shadow. Then there was a flash of light and she was in Hyrule Field again. "Are you okay?" Link asked. She nodded her head. "I think so." She said in a shaky voice. "I was at home, but everything I made was gone. I saw something..." "What was it?" Link asked her. "It was Ganon. Well, it was his shadow on the wall, the wall of my home. I don't understand what it means." Niyadah came up to her with a strange look on her face that made Jjin suspicious. "You saw my- I mean Ganon?" She asked. "Your what? What were you about to say?" Jjin asked her. "Nothing." She replied, looking away from him. ____________________________________________________ "There's something strange going on with Niyadah." Jjin said to Link later. "I mean, first she shows up out of nowhere, then she's about to say Ganon is her...something...and then she lies and says she wasn't going to say anything." He continued. "I agree, some. But we don't know about it, so we can't let her know we're suspicious. Just let it go for now." Link told him. "So, why your home? Why would Ganon want to go there?" Niyadah asked Karin. "I worked for him once. I betrayed him, and he's been seeking revenge. I found some things he didn't want anyone to know." She answered. "You worked for Ganon?!" Niyadah said. "Yes, worked, not still work. I figured out that he was evil. I didn't know that at first, until I overheard him talking about ruling Hyrule. I escaped from here after that, so he wouldn't know where to find me." Karin explained. Link was hearing all of this. He was alarmed until Karin said she escaped from his power. "So he might want revenge on you?" Niyadah asked. "He probably does. I just can't figure out how he knew I had come back...oh...he must have known I was Anita last time I came here...he must have seen me in the battle...but how could he know I was Anita? Did he see through my disguise? I don't understand..." Karin thought aloud. Link was amazed that a wizard could hold up a guise for so long. Karin was Anita? Anita was Karin? He couldn't believe how much was being revealed. That woman in the Triforce cavern that day, was it really her mother? He would just have to wait and find out. "If I saw Ganon in my home, maybe that's where he is! We should try it!" Karin suggested. "That's a good idea, but how do we get there?" Jjin asked her. "We warp, of course." Karin replied. Then she, Niyadah, Jjin, Aerin and Link faded away from Hyrule. The travelers reappeared in another field. "We can't warp close to my home. If Ganon's here, he'll be able to see my magic being used." ____________________________________________________ So they walked near a stone wall that reached higher than any of their heads. They followed it until Karin ordered them to halt. "I'll scout alone. I can become invisible, so he won't even be able to detect my magic." Karin said. Then she faded away. Karin walked into the cave; it was emptier than she had ever seen it. In the center of the stone hallway, sat her crystal, which she used for her furnishing magic. It was broken into several pieces. In the distance she could hear yelling. She quickly left the cave and returned to visible form. "Someone's in there. I don't know who, but it doesn't sound like Anderson." She told them. "Should we go in?" Jjin asked. "Maybe." Karin said. "Hey...where's Aerin?" She asked. Aerin had mysteriously disappeared with no trace. Just then she came from inside the cave. Her eyes were red and she had a strange look in them. "I went to my master, that's where." She said venomously. Alexis flew behind her. "She's evil! Ganon changed her!" She yelled. "He made me right. I was always on the wrong side, but he corrected me." Aerin remarked snidely. Suddenly Aerin ran into the cave. The others chased after her. They ran into a large cavern. Inside was Ganon, standing beside Aerin. She was looking up at him admiringly. "My little decoy. The one I made, just for you. She's useless now, though." He said. As he finished, Aerin collapsed, dead. "Eeris, take that away." He commanded. The little elf ran in, picked up the lifeless body, and left the room. Link looked around the room, and saw who he had been looking for. Zelda was there, in a magic cage. Niyadah ran toward Ganon with an expression of hatred on her face. "How could you do that to her? You're vile!" She yelled. "Now Ala, don't get mad at me." He said sarcastically. "Ala?" Link asked. Niyadah hung her head. "My real name isn't Niyadah. It's Alaruro." She told them. Just then, everything froze. Everyone but Ganon was frozen in place. He moved up directly behind Alaruro and grabbed her. Everyone started to move again. He put a dagger to her throat. "That's right, you finally tell the truth...sissy." He said sneering. "Sissy?" Karin asked. "My little sister. You betrayed me..." Ganon said. He slowly dragged the dagger across her neck, and blood spilled out. Alaruro looked sadly at Link for a moment, and then died in her brother's arms. ____________________________________________________ "How can you do that, to your own sister?" Jjin asked. "Don't try to get my conscience stirred up, I don't have one. You're next." He said. "After I kill these two brats." He continued, looking at Link and Zelda. "Not if I can help it!" Link shouted. "Wait..." Karin said. "How did you get in here without Anderson noticing?" She asked. "I didn't. There he is, if you want him." Ganon said to her. "You traitor." He added. A body appeared on the floor beside Karin. "No! You didn't!" She yelled, turning the body over so she could see the face. It was what she had feared; the face of her husband looked up at her blankly. "Anderson...no...I'll kill you Ganon!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face. She raised her hands over her head and prepared to kill him, but he picked her up and threw her against a wall. "I'll deal with you next, Karin, don't worry. I haven't forgotten you." Ganon said. He looked at Link, who raised his sword. Karin got up and went over to the cage Zelda was being held in. She muttered something and the cage broke. Zelda jumped out and ran to Link. "Link, do you have the Ocarina of Time with you?" She whispered. Link nodded. "Give it to me, and whatever you do, don't stop moving." She told him. He handed her the Ocarina and she raised it to her mouth. G-A-B-C-B-A-B-G-A-B-A-G-A-F-G-F-D-A-B-C-D-C-B-C-A-B-C-B-A-B-G-A-G-A, She thought to herself as she played. A long, sad melody came out of the instrument. Ganon stopped what he was doing, but Link, Jjin and Karin didn't, to heed Zelda's warning. For the first set of notes, nothing happened. But on the next set, a light surrounded Ganon. He froze in place. Karin took this time to hit him with her fire-magic. He was burned, but still alive. "He can only be killed with the power of the Triforce." Zelda told her. "I'll warp you back to the castle to get it, if you want." Karin offered. "Let's go then." Zelda said. ____________________________________________________ They warped to the castle, outside the door of the Triforce room. Mirah was standing there. "Mirah! What are you doing here?" Zelda asked. "I can't find Len. He got away from me somehow." Mirah told them, looking distressed. "I think he might have gone in this room, but I don't know how he did or why he wanted to go in there." Zelda opened the door to the Triforce room. Standing in the middle, trying to reach the complete Triforce, was Len. "Len! What are you doing in here?" Zelda asked. "Where's mommy?" He demanded. "I'm right here. How did you get in here, and why?" Mirah asked him. "The door opened for me. I just walked in." Len replied. "The door opened for you?" Zelda repeated. "Uh-huh. I wanted to see what's in here so it opened." He said. "We have to get the Triforce and go back." Zelda said. She picked it up and Karin warped them back to the cave. Ganon was unfrozen, and he was chasing Link around the room. Link was slashing at him with his sword, trying to slow him. Zelda held up the Triforce. 'WHAT DO YOU WISH?' it asked her. "I wish that Ganon was destroyed." She said. 'THE CLOSEST THING TO THAT I CAN DO IS BANISH HIM FROM THE LIGHT WORLD.' It said. "Yes, do that." She told it. A portal opened behind Ganon, pulling him in. "NOOOOOOOO!" He yelled. Eeris came in, looking surprised. "Master!" He cried, jumping in after Ganon. The portal closed behind him. "That was interesting." Link said. Karin was on her knees, looking down at Anderson's body. "Why him?" She asked. Zelda put her hand on Karin's shoulder. "It was the worst revenge he could put upon you. Having the ones you love die when you live is awful." Zelda said. "The good thing is, it's over." Jjin said. "Not quite..." A voice said. A woman who looked a little like Karin stepped from the shadows. "Not you again." Karin sighed. "Who are you?" Jjin asked. "I am everyone, I am everything. You know who I am, Karin. I could see you even in that disguise as Anita. I know you." The woman said. "Karin, I am your real mother. The woman you saw die...she was your sister. I was searching through the Temple of Time while the home was raided, and you must have mistaken your sister for me. I was trapped in the cave for quite a while too. It was an ancient temple." ____________________________________________________ "My sister? I had a sister?" Karin asked. "Yes. Alaruro took her name, Niyadah. She was much older than you were, and had moved out of the house before you were born." "What is your name?" Link asked her. "My name is Arianah. I am now the Sage of the Forgotten Temple." Arianah said. "Forgotten Temple? I've never heard of it." Zelda said. "Where do you think it got its name?" Arianah asked. "Come on, let's go home." Jjin suggested. Everyone agreed to that. Karin warped them all back to the castle, except for Arianah, who went back to the Forgotten Temple. "Jjin! You're back!" Mirah said as soon as she saw him. She hugged him. "Yes, I am." He said, hugging her back. Then Pen and Gwen ran up and hugged him. "Where's Len?" He asked. "I hope he's not in the Triforce room again." Mirah sighed. Zelda took the Triforce back to the room and placed it on the pedestal. She looked around and saw Len. "Len, what are you doing in here?" She asked. "Something told me to come in and wait for you." He replied, sounding much older than a four-year-old should. "Wait for me? What told you? What did it sound like?" She asked intently. "It sounded musical. I don't know what else." The boy replied. "Well, come on, let's get out of here." Zelda told him. He ran out of the room to where Mirah was waiting. "Len, you have to stay out of there!" She scolded. "I know mommy, I'm sorry." Len said, sounding his age again. Zelda felt there was something strange about him, but she didn't bring it up. She left the Triforce room, and went up to hers. It had been a long two days, especially being locked up in a cage. Link met her at the stairs. "I've been meaning to ask you...that song you played, what was it called?" He asked her. "It's called the Song of Stars. It doesn't always freeze someone. I just wanted to freeze Ganon, so it froze him." She replied. "So it would do what you wanted it to? Why didn't you wish to kill Ganon?" Link asked her. "It's too great a task. He must have some kind of importance, if the Triforce can't kill him now." Meanwhile, Len had gone to bed. 'LEN...' said a voice in his head. He sat up in bed. "Who's there?" He asked the darkness. 'LEN...GO BACK TO THE ROOM...I HAVE SOMETHING WAITING FOR YOU...' it said. Len left the room, being careful not to wake anyone else. He ran into the Triforce room, whose doors had mysteriously opened. He went up to the pedestal in the middle of the room where the Triforce sat. "Hello?" He asked. 'LEN...TOUCH THE TRIFORCE...' Len jumped as the pedestal began to lower down to his size. He touched the Triforce and a mysterious light radiated from it. It went up to the ceiling and blinded Len for a minute. He covered his eyes, and when the light was gone, an amulet was in its place. 'LEN...THIS IS THE AMULET OF STARS. GUARD IT WELL, FOR YOU WILL NEED IT FOR A QUEST SOME DAY...UNTIL THEN, STARSEEKER...UNTIL THEN...' the voice faded away and the Amulet of Stars hung around Len's neck, as if by magic. ____________________________________________________ The amulet was beautiful; it was deep blue with a five-pointed star in the middle. 'THE SONG OF STARS OPENS ITS POWER...' the voice again said. Len looked at the amulet in the light; it was partially crystalline. I have to show this to someone, he thought. Just then Zelda walked into the room. "Len? Why are you here?" She asked. Then she noticed the Amulet of Stars. "How did you get that?" She demanded. "The Amulet of Stars was given to me. I touched the Triforce and it came out of the ceiling. The voice called me the 'Starseeker.'" Can this be true? A little boy, the Starseeker? But how? Zelda thought. Zelda went up to her room and looked through her books. "Starseeker...where is it? Aha!" She mumbled. Skimming the pages, Zelda noticed a pattern on their edges. She found her page and read it quickly. The one who can lay hands upon the Triforce without royal ancestry shall be the fabled Starseeker. A royal shall teach him the Song of Stars. Could that be me? I'm a royal, and I know the song, maybe when he's old enough to play. Mirah and Jjin mustn't find out. Zelda told herself. "Len...you can't tell anyone of tonight. It must be a secret between you and me. Understand?" Zelda said. Len nodded. "You'll teach me the Song of Stars?" Zelda nodded. "Yes, but not now. Now you must go back to bed..." Len ran back into his room and fell asleep immediately. It had been a long day. ____________________________________________________ Zelda went back up to her room. She was tired, and sleeping in her bed would be better than in a cave. She changed into her nightclothes and collapsed onto the bed. She was asleep before her head hit the pillow. Link was thinking over the last tow days' events. It had been so long since he had seen Saria too. He got out of bed and played Saria's Song on the Ocarina. 'Link? What are you doing, calling me so late?' Saria asked. "I don't know. I just wanted to say hi, I think. How are you?" 'I'm fine. It's quiet around the forest without you here, though. Well, I'll see you soon, right?' "Of course." 'Bye then!' The connection faded and Link was left alone again. Karin felt awful. All of the dead people...she couldn't believe how long her mother must have spent in that temple. It was unimaginable. Anderson was dead though...she laid her head down and cried for him. -Narrator gets misty-eyed.- It's so sad... -Narrator cracks up laughing- Oh, that was funny! Okay, I'm done. Now, as I was saying... Karin was really upset. 'Karin...' She jumped up and looked around. 'Karin, I'm right here, right in front of you.' Said a strange voice. Karin could see a faint glow coming from in front of her. It started to shimmer. Out of that came Anderson. "Anderson! Wait...no...It can't be you...you're dead...I saw you..." Anderson laughed. "That was me. Ganon is cruel, too cruel. But he couldn't be destroyed. His destiny must be fulfilled, and no one else can but him. It lies with the Starseeker." "What's a Starseeker?" Karin asked. "The one who searches the stars. The great adventurer. I imagine Link must be kin to one. He is the destiny child, who is chosen before they are even born. It is a gift to be chosen. Ganon must help that boy...I cannot say yet who he is...but you have a role in his ventures too...so do I...I am to be his guide..." Karin went up to Anderson. "Anderson...did you know about my mother?" "Yes, but not until recently. I had no idea about Niyadah, or Alaruro. I love you, take care. Farewell..." He said, then he shimmered and disappeared, as if he was never there at all. ____________________________________________________ Everyone was asleep. Alaruro and Aerin are resting in peace. The real Niyadah is justified. Arianah is happy in the Forgotten Temple, which isn't so forgotten anymore. Len is going to begin his training in certain subjects to prepare him to be the Starseeker. Link and Zelda are happy, and finally together in peace. Karin feels she has avenged Anderson's death, and knows they will meet again soon. Jjin, Mirah, Pen and Gwen, along with Len, went back home. Hopefully Len's quests will happen soon so I can write about them. That would be a great story. But what of Alexis? She's in the forest, looking for a Kokiri child to guard. I think she'll find one soon enough. Everyone seems to be happy now. This ends the Quest Trilogy, and I hope left most-but not all- questions answered. Some are just supposed to stay mysteries, for me to know and you to guess... -Narrator leaves the room satisfied that her story is now known. Next time I'm in Hyrule, I'll find some action for you. -
