Yusuke: So... In two days there's gonna be an eclipse. If Hiei and Kurama can get the bishop to see them together… in human form… Duo: The curse will be broken! Sugoi! There is a loud disturbance from outside. Yusuke: Go! Watch over Kurama… I'll deal with this. The pair split up. Yusuke ran to the old wall that looked over his front gate. Yusuke: What do ya think you're doing? This isn't a brothel!! Unimportant Extra: Open up in the name of the bishop! Yusuke: I've met the bishop and you look nothing like him! UE: We are here on his authority to search the premises for the criminal Duo Maxwell… aka, Shinigami! Yusuke: Then by all means… c'mon in! The extras rush into the gate, but half fall through the suspiciously weak bridge. Yusuke: Oh… be careful *smirk* Kurama heard the extras tromping through the gate. Kurama: Duo! Duo: What? Kurama: The guards.. they're coming for me! Duo listened for a moment and confirmed that there were people storming the castle.[1] Duo: More likely the're coming for me… but we gotta get you out of here anyway. Come on! Duo grabbed Kurama's hand and the pair raced up to the roof. The extras were never less than a minute behind though… When they finally came out the door there was a small balcony. And nothing else. Duo: SHIT! Duo looked to the horizon… it couldn't be more than a minute before Kurama changed into a fox, and the guards wouldn't notice him… but would it still be to late? Duo jammed a plank in front of the door in hopes of slowing their hunters. Duo looked over the edge… he saw a very long drop. Kurama: It's time… Kurama's body slowly morphed with cool special effects and stuff into the cuddly cute kitsune we all know and love. Just then the extras broke through te door. And saw… nothing. UE: There he is! The extra reached over the balcony and grabbed Duo who'd been hanging onto an old gargoyle… they were too busy dragging the squirming boy up to the balcony… they didn't notice the fox slink back through the door. UE: Where's the other guy, boy? Duo: Heh, he got away! UE: I'll teach you to lie!! The extra raised his fist in a threatening manner, but before he could pummel our beloved Shinigami an arrow flew into his chest… then another… then the guy next to him gets one for good measure![2] The rest of the extras (who aren't getting paid enough to **die** for this) wisely retreat. When the rain of arrows has ceased, Duo looks over the edge of the balcony… there standing with that ever-so-handy crossbow is Hiei! Duo runs down through the castle as fast as he can. As he reaches the main hall, he is awestruck by the sweet reunion between Hiei and the fox form of Kurama. The cuddly bit of fur was wiggling blissfully in Hiei's arms, and Hiei seemed equally happy to have him there. Hiei: Hn. I suppose I have you both to thank for this. **glares at Yusuke** But don't think that this means I've forgiven you. Yusuke: It's no matter to me if you forgive me or not… because god has forgiven me! He has shown me how you and Kurama can break the curse! Hiei: God hasn't forgiven you. He's made you mad. Hiei stalks out of the castle still carrying his fox. Duo chases after him, but throws an impatient look over his shoulder. Duo: Well?? Follow us! [1] I've always wanted to say something about SOMEONE storming a castle… Now I've fulfilled my dream. [2] **shrugs** bad things happen to those who threaten my Duo! |
