The First Practical Application of Iman is to make Shahadah. THe Arabic words you use to make shahadah are ASH HADU AN LA ILAHA ILL ALLAH WA ASH HADU ANNA MUHAMMDAN ABDUHU WA RASULULAH. OR IN ENGLISH IT IS I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUAHMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER >That it to declare your faith and bear witness of your theoretical knowledge that there is no true god, nothing whatosoever that deserves the right you should worship but the One True God, which is the basis of Iman, please refer to first Pillar of Iman and that Muhammad(pbuh) is His Messenger. This Shahadah is never to be made upon coercion or compulsion, its a free choice and its the Key to Iman. When You have made your Shahadah you turned the Key to Iman. and May all our Iman always be growing. After having made the Shahadah then it becomes a duty of ours to offer Salat. So we go beyond theoretical knowledge and the lip profession of your faith in this knowledge, but we begin to practically apply this knowledge or Iman in our daily lives, by offering our 5 compulsory prayers to this One God. Now we will begin to learn the 2d Pillar of Islam which is to Pray.
