Catalog Number: 47386 Producer: Rick Rubin Release Date: June 08 1999 Transcribed by Wim... questions, comments, critisism, death threats, additions, requests, proposals ----> sirnick@hotmail.com and if you just want to say thank you, then that would be very appreciated :) Update: 27 June '99. Some chord names have been changed, they were wrong (not the chords, the names up the top). I added chord names above all the solos, and they are the times when the accoustic changes between C and D. The little note at the end is a 5 not a 4... :) Also, thanks to XsKhAoS@aol.com for correcting the F in the chorus (it should be a F/C). That's all. This is the whole song. I think there will be a lot of demand for this tab, probably mostly from non-pepper fans. Anyone want to tab the bass? You're a saint. :) Let's see, scar_tis, I tabbed this song about 6-8 months ago actually. The song was written quite a long time ago, but it wasnt tabbed from a studio version - it was a live vegas mp3. You can probably still find it on the net - it's not that great though. The studio version is much better. Now sorry to all the poor fools that came looking for a scar tissue tab when they heard it (over and over again) on the radio... because they all would have found my tab of the vegas mp3 - in which the guitar lines are actually quite unique. So here is the proper studio tab. I added the solo because I got quite a few polite requests. :) When I first heard this song I wasn't that impressed, and wasn't expecting the album to be very good because the album cover and the album title aren't nearly as fascinating as their last three. But, the music on the album is great - if you're reading this tab cause you heard scar tissue on the radio, then go out and get the album! It's great, and has a lot (more?) to offer. The backing vocals by flea and john are nice. If you want to play the solo then you'll need a SLIDE. If you're not so familiar with guitars, then this is a little doohicky you put on your finger, it's usually made of metal and glass, and you can slide the notes slowly and sexily. They're cool, but _very_ hard to use... I'm no good at slide guitar, I keep missing the frets. If you dont have a slide (they're only a couple of bucks), you can use a bottleneck like eric clapton did on walkin' blues :) or just about anything metal/glassish will work, or you can just fake it with bends. key: 5/7 slide up 7\5 slide down 5h7 hammer on 7p5 pull off 5b7 bend 5b(7)r5 bend and release (bend up and then let down) 5b(7)p5 bend and pull-off (bend up then pull off) (7)r5 prebend and release (bend the note before it's plucked) 5h7p5 hammer-on and pull-off x muted note (deaden the string when you pluck it) (5) ghost note; you dont strike it; let it ring 5~ ~ tremolo/vibrato (wiggle your finger :) Cute studio intro: F C Dm C e:|-----5-5-5----5----------------------------| B:|-----------------5--5/6--6--6-6--6\5-------| G:|-------------------------------------------| D:|--3---3-3-3--------------------------------| A:|-----------------3--3/5----5-5-5-----3-----| E:|-------------------------------------------| F Dm e:-----5-5-5--5-3---------------------------| B:-----------------5/6--(6)--8p6--8p6--5/6--| G:------------------------------------------| D:--3---3-3-3-------------------------------| A:-----------------3/5--(5)-----------------| E:------------------------------------------| First verse riff: F C Dm7 C e:-----5-5-5---5----------------------------| B:---------------5--5/6--6--6-6-6---6\5-----| G:------------------------------------------| D:--3---3-3-3-------------------------------| A:---------------3--3/5----5-5-5-5--5\3--3--| E:------------------------------------------| Scar tissue that I wish you saw... Blood loss in a bathroom stall Southern girl with a scarlet drawl Wave good-bye to ma and pa 'cause With the birds I'll share With the birds I'll share This lonely view With the birds I'll share This lonely view Soft spoken with a broken jaw Step outside but not to brawl Autumn's sweet we call it fall I'll make it to the moon if I have to crawl and With the birds I'll share This lonely view...
