If you've ever gotten off the Interstates in New Hampshire, you may have noticed the green historical markers on the side of the road commemorating the people, places, and events of New Hampshire's past. The State of New Hampshire's website describes the state-wide historical marker program and lists all of the markers by region. To avoid confusion (and save us no end of reorganization work), our site uses the same regional groupings. Click the buttons above, the list of links below left, or the regions on the map below right to visit these markers ... or take a drive through New Hampshire and stop the car, roll down the window -- maybe even get out -- and read some roadside history. |
