You never took the time to get to know him-
Sure, he was quiet, and a little odd
But if you cared enough to talk to him
You'd know how sweet he really was.
If you cared enough to say hello,
Maybe he'd still be here;
Maybe he'd still linger the hallways
With his head a little higher, a spring in his step.
If you cared enough to lend a helping hand
You'd know how badly he needed a friend,
You'd know how lonely and isolated he truly was.
If you care enough to ask about his day
You'd understand how much he holds inside,
You'd realize his pain.
If only you cared enough to smile and wave once or twice
Maybe he wouldn't have taken his own life,
Maybe it would've given him the strength he needed
To pull through.
But you never cared, not at all.
So now he's gone; body, mind, and soul-
Torn violently from his family and the tiny shred
Of happiness his life contained
In a bloody attempt to end the pain.
Congratulations; you killed him
In every way one can be killed.
