SCP (Subsystem Control Point) Development

(February 1997 – January 1999)

·         Subsystem Control Point (SCP) process is part of Distributed Systems Management (DSM) architecture. The SCP process is a central point through which management applications and subsystems exchange Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI) messages.

·         The SCP process enforces command security, supports tracing, checks for version incompatibilities, and reduces the number of opens that management application and subsystem processes must maintain.

As a Product Developer (Single Person Team), my responsibilities included:

·         Programming in TAL for Enhancements and Problem fixing.

·         The New Product Version (NPV) and Interim Product Module (IPM) release for G0X, D4X & D3X threads.

·         The size of the code is around 30K lines. Also it uses the shared code e.g. Common Kernel which plays significant role in the Problem Analysis.

·         Problem Fixing and Enhancements as per the request made by the customers. Solved 3-5 Critical and 8-10 Major problems.

·         Communication with the customers for their queries and enhancement work for their product /application support.

SPI (Subsystem Programmatic Interface) Development

(February 1997 –January 1999)

·         The Subsystem Programmatic Interface (SPI), a central component of Tandem's Distributed System Management (DSM) architecture, is a path that management applications and subsystems use to exchange command response messages and event messages.

·         SPI consists of a standard message format, standard message protocol, standard unit of information: the token, data definitions for commonly used data structures etc.

As a Product Developer (Single Person Team), my responsibilities included:

·         Programming in TAL for Enhancements and Problem fixing.
