My Sisters are my best friends. With three of them around in my younger days, we were a big team to play most of the games. Well now they are kind of busy in their own ways. The eldest one is married to Dennis Fernandes, a resident of Carona Aldona close to our home place. The guy is working for the Goa Police force and thus I guess she is credited as having the best security in town. Their friendship started at a early age and finally they decided to tie knot on the 19th of December 1998. I was on my vacation in Goa during the same month and it was a grand celebration. Now they have bought a new house on the outskirts of the city Mapusa and are having a good time with their baby girl Shania. Maria has completed her Post-graduate degree course in Commerce area, majoring in Accountancy at Goa University. She was a very studious student and one of her greatest achievement was securing the 11th Rank for the Bachelor's degree in Commerce which she completed at St. Xaviers' College Goa. Among other things, her interests included reading comics, fiction books and novels, Gardening and Music. I guess she has a knack to manage things pretty well and is a good crowd puller. Maybe one day she would be a good Sarpanch... just kidding.
Maria is working for the Life Insurance Corporation of India Ltd. Guys it is the Insurance Company and a call goes to anyone who wants to do secure his life for the future. If there be any questions regarding any issues relating to the insurance policies, she will be able to guide you'll in the right direction. Ofcourse the premium payment will be your commitment. She is currently based in Pernem Goa, the fag end of North Goa. But Nevertheless she has been enjoying her job over there even though it a long distance from her Home place.
The most memorable moment for the family is when she delivered a baby girl on the 27th of Dec 1999, the first grand child of the family. Just missed the new millenium by 3 days, but I guess she and Dennis are very ecstatic with the baby girl as much as everybody in the family. Guess I'll be called Uncle by my Cousins.
Going back to the days before she got married. She reminds me of the good old days that we spent together playing, arguing, fighting and cracking jokes.
As a kid she was pretty smart and an active participant in sports too. Sometimes we could hear her cheering loudly from the school grounds which was around 200 meters away and Mom used to say, "Isn't that voice Maria's?". She used to get so mad when we used to tell her that. She was quick also to tell if somebody is creating problems for her and if it was a boy, one of the brothers would normally solve the situation. She was quick to give a helping hand to someone in need as also was to help us making for the team incase we run short of players. She is quite determinant and orderly in her work. She does a lot of planning before she ventures out on any new ventures She likes the Techno-Pop group venga Boys very much.

Hey! Let me talk about my second sister: Rita Pinto. I must admit that she is my favorite sister, though I like all of them equally well. She is married to Vinson Pinto from Assonara, Goa, a small town on the northern side, close to my Mom's native place. Vinson is by nature a very jovial guy and he is a damn good cook. With his expertise in the traditional/foreign dishes, he could tickle anybody's taste buds. I guess Rita is very lucky to be eating all the delicacies. She is a very good cook herself like my Mom. Vinson completed his Degree in the reputed Hotel Management and Catering Institute at Porvorim From there he proceeded to work in 5* Hotel Mandovi . Right now he is a manager for a Hotel in Sinquerim. Enjoying his job, I believe, and dedicating a lot of time to his work.
Rita met Vinson at a wedding Party and I guess it was Love at first sight. I guess from then on the secret dates started considering that my pop was kind of a strict guy. I guess at some point of time, even Vinson like us must have got scared of him. They got married on May 10th, 1997 with apomp celeberation. Unfortunately I could not make it for her wedding because I was here in the United States with a new assignment and it was just 6 months then.
I got to meet all of them when I went down the following December for Maria's Wedding. She is pretty happy and her in-laws are also very fond of her.
Rita has completed her Bachelor's degree in Commerce at St. Xavier's College, Mapusa Goa majoring in Accountancy. From then on she completed her Diploma in Computer Applications in a private Institute in Mapusa, Goa. She is a cool and composed character like my Mom. Her interests include reading Comics, reading novels, Gardening, Stitching, Crochet and Music. Her favorite single at one time : " A La la Li La Long - by Inner Circle". She is dedicated in what she does and is quite a favorite among her circle of friends. She is a very cautious person spending money very wisely. I think she would be a good treasurer.
She is working for a Computer firm in Data Pro, Panjim Goa. Her job involved teaching the new students in the courses which the firm is offering. She also does the Accounting and administrative work involved therin. She likes her job in the Capital City, as she gets to meet new persons with varied interests. She also likes travelling.
Going back in time to the days before she got married, She was quite a delicate girl and also would get disturbed if anyone said something about her. I guess She has matured by now and ready to take on the challenges of the world. My family and in-laws are waiting patiently for their baby. May I ask when??? One of the incidents for which we still tease her is " Once Rita, me and Mom were travelling to my grandpa's place in Richshaw(3-wheeled automobile). It can be a very bumpy ride if there are potholes on the road. One one such occasion, Rita got so scared that she said " Somebody please hold me!. I think I am falling." I guess she will be mad at me for mentioning this. As I said before she is a very cautious handler of financials, whenever she writes to me, she is sure to mention that I have to save a lot.

Well it's time to talk about the smarty Sister Janet Fernandes. Since she is not married, I guess I can pull her leg a lot and get away with it. But I guess some psychoanalysis will be done and I should await something when I go down to Goa in summer. By nature she was quite reserved at first and with all the experiences and attitude, she is growing up to be a brave and determined lady of modern times. She is a hard worker and loves to chat with her very large circle of friends.
Janet has completed her Master's degree in Arts, majoring in Clinical Psychology from the reputed Kalina University, Santa Cruz, Bombay. One of her greatest achievements in her career was when she secured the First Rank in the whole of Goa at her Bachelor's Degree exam which she did at St. Xaviers' College, Mapusa Goa. We are very proud of her. Her interests include traveling, meeting people (psychoanalysis), gardening crochet and music. I dont know her favorite single, but I guess it's from the CD which her boyfriend Michael gave to her "Michael Learns to Rock". Hey I forgot to mention, she likes to rock too, my ever-ready dancing partner.
Soon after completing her Master's degree in Bombay, she came down to Goa where she immediately got a job in St Theresa's College in Vasco. After a year, she got an offer from St. Xaviers' College where she is currently enjoying herself working as a professor. She must be even more happy now with the rise in pay via the 5th Pay Commission. She is a fashionable girl and likes to spend a lot on dresses. She is enjoying her post as a Lecturer meeting new students every year. She, herself, looks like a college student. Her favorite time with Students is handling the Practicals section of the course. I guess she is a born teacher. When she was young she used to give lessons to a virtual classroom.
When she was very young, she was very thin, so much so that some of her friends used to call her "Our Lady of Bones". Now I guess, she has changed a lot developing into a fashionable lady of modern times. Janet is married to Michael Dsouza from Margao, who is working in the Middle East. Speaking of other things, she likes to interact with people and can get along with anyone from a Kid to an age-old Grandpa.

With the best of all of them, I wish them good luck and the best of health I am sure they will continue to be in the strong old relationship as we were before. I am certainly looking forward to getting all the co-operation and support that they have extended so far in my ventures in life. Looking forward to meet them all.
I miss my three sisters very much. I love them dearly. Can't wait to meet all of them.
