Hi, I'd just like 2 say that I REALLY agree with your views on the whole AniTV subject.
But I've noticed something else that really saddens me. Apart from the "dumming
down" of dialog on AniTV, I've noticed a drastic change in the books that I can't
really explain. I'm not sure if it's just the ghostwriters, but it seems 2 me that from
#25 & up, the characters' personalities have changed slightly. Most of their
"missions" have seemed really pointless lately, and the dialog has become mostly
made up of "witty" cliches & stupid comebacks. The animorphs' individual
characters have seemed 2 B a bit rubbed off because of that, making them act more on
impulse without much information 2 their thoughts or emotions from the impact (e.g. the
kiss in #26), it has made on the character personally. Just like the TV series, there
seems 2 B a lot more action than before, & less dialog (that actually means something
that makes sense). The two characters I think have suffered most from this change, are
Rachel and Cassie. Since Cassie doesn't seem really that important, the AniTV ppl have
turned her into kind of a background character. And recently in the books, it seems like
she's started slipping deeper & deeper into the background. Everybody ignores her half
the time & it's just REALLY annoying. Apart from that, Rachel's character seems 2 B
evolving into more of a dazed & confused ditz. Her books have been pretty confused
since #7 really, but recently her books just seem 2 B sliding.
It's really a pity that no-one wants 2 accept the fact that Tobias' hair SHOULD B
blonde, either. Sorry. I think I've been boring U long enough 2 get my point through.
