Overall Grade: B+ (85%) We liked it. Lots of nudity and swearing, plenty'o violence, and some sexual content. Disturbing scenes which are bad for your psyche, but who cares? It's a great show. GO SEE IT NOW!!

Heather's Key the Metal Idol Review

Key the Metal Idol is quite a confusing story. There really isn't too much I can tell you about without spoiling some of the plotline. The only things that I can say are Tokiko Mima is the granddaughter of Professor Mima. He dies mysteriously one afternoon. He tells Key (Tokiko) that if someday, she wants to become human, she must find 30,000 friends. She sets out with no one around to help her. She stumbles upon many people who want to take advantage of her. One of these people is Ajo (? spelling) who owns a Heavy Industry company. He also is head of Minos Production Company. The are a recording Label who head big teen idols like "Miho" (just a really important singer... ^_^). His Heavy Industry Company also sends out strange people at night time to control Giant mechanized dolls. What do they use to power these? Why do they react so strangely when Key is around? Who are all of these people who want to help Key? Or do they actually want to destroy her?

Key finds her childhood friend, Sakura, and together they try to find a way for Key to have 30,000 friends. The comments I have on this show are if you can stand nudity and extreme violence, then you should watch this. It is excellent! There are rather disturbing things on Key the Metal Idol, too. Mostly to do with sexual things, so watch out for that too. Not one to show the kiddies at a birthday party, that's for sure.

Heather's ratings

Storyline

5/5 I loved it! It is unique and alot like evangelion in the aspect that it takes some thinking. The first 6 tapes will leave you clueless. The last two tapes are full-length movies that explain everything pretty much all at once, so be prepared to take it all in!

Character Development

5/5 A good job, but some of the characters aren't revealed totally until the end, and some I just couldn't remember the names of for some odd reason!

Plot Depth

5/5 It was very deep and like I mentioned before, it takes some concentration and thinking on you and your brain's part.

Music

5/5 I love the opening song. The ending song is cool, too. "Key's Lullaby" is gorgeous! The dubbing is a little off, but it's like that in all anime when people sing.

Sexual Content

3/5 Guy's hand up a girl's skirt... Ajo sticking his face elsewhere, an old man doing who knows what to a doll, the porno-dude who takes people's pictures when they are naked... and so on.

Nudity

3/5 Every tape there is nudity. There is alot of unneccessary nudity and it is all quite detailed for you. The upper half of women, anyway. And you can see Sergay's buttcrack! Speedtyper D! (Sergay is also known as D)

Violence/Gore

3/5 Wow. A lot of blood. A lot of insides coming out. A lot of weird powers.

Animation

5/5 Very good and detailed.

Profanity

4/5 They swear a lot. I mean a lot. But it is of the norm, and nothing really profane. Stuff you know even your pastor/priest/rabbi/whoever has said.

Overall goodness

5/5 I recommend this to...people who like weird things. I highly recommend it to sci-fi fans... and I am a BIG science-fiction person!

Totals: 43/50, very good! Not for everyone, though.

Megan's Key the Metal Idol Review

I LOVE this series. It's so thinky and deep. And so confusing. Violent. Naked people. Okay, that's not so good. Just one of those things you love to hate.. aka AJO! On to the storyline... -_-()

Key is a robot. An android (androido) to be precise.. but who's doing THAT? Anyway, her "grandfather" Professor Mima, dies rather suddenly one afternoon. And it's sunny. Sunny days are the most dangerous. You know, the kind where nothing can go wrong? Watch your back VERY closely on those days. ANYWAY.. his dying words were to "tell Key.. if she wants to become human, she must amek thirty thousand friends." That is a WHOLE lotta people. So Key is off to Toyko, to live with her old friend Sakura. Ajo notices this and gets QUITE upset. He sends out weird mechanized people out. AKA PPOR's. (peepee oh are) Key isn't the most... uh..normal person. She's very suspicious. No emotions? Those weird 'episodes'? This gets better and better. So addicting. She wants more than anything to be human. Why does she need thirty thousand friends? All in good time.. if you wait. And trust meee, it's worth it.

Storyline

5/5 Sometimes, I think it was insulting me, saying I was stupid, but then again, I must have been to out of it to figure it out.

Character Development

5/5 So many characters, but Key's past and importance of 30,000 people IS revealed. Do not worry, Key will help you. (that's emotionless and monotonus.)

Plot Depth

5/5 I think I may have drowned somewhere back there and not even noticed.

Music

5/5 Ah, so goo, so goo. Key no Lullaby is so gorgeous! And the other songs are most excellenty as well.

Sexual Content

3/5 Guy's hand up girl's skirt behind bush.. Ajo doing various things to his "children".. not to mention Miho. Poor girl. And that old guy and his creations. I don't even want to know what he really thinks while making those ladies.

Nudity

3/5 Naked people everywhere. Literally. Everybody get nakee! Even Sergay! (aka D) You see his ugly butt! That's not a sight to see early in the morning! He can't type fast, either. Miho's ALWAYS naked. Key is naked alot, too. I bet even Ajo gets naked. But we won't want to see that.

Violence/Gore

3/5 Oh, boy. Blood, blood everywhere. It's surprisingly violent. I mean.. LOOK at the covers. You think, oh, how sweet and innocent and.. possessed that girl looks. She can inflict some MAJOR damage.

Animation

5/5 Very good.

Profanity

4/5 They swear a ton. But nothing too serious. Just "darn" with a different word, mostly.

Overall goodness

5/5 SO GOOD! SO GOOD! GUT! (goot. Good in German)

Totals: 43/50, so very excellent.

TOTALS: 42.5/50 Very nice, very goo.

***We really DO plan on buying Key. Dubbed, of course! We saw it dubbed and UNCUT! Comic Junction, of course! *wink****
