Heather's My Dear Marie Review

My Dear Marie is the story of this guy, Hiroshi who is really obsessive over Mari, a girl who he plays tennis with. He wants her really really badly, but she doesn't like him in that way. So he decides if he can't have her... he'll have her anyway. So Hiroshi builds a robot of her. Everything is exact down to the programming of her birthday. However, the main difference is that the real Mari has purple hair and robot Marie has pink. They look exactly alike.

Marie is happy 'living' as she is, she doesn't know that she is a fake image of someone else. Well, she is an excellent tennis player of course, so she often plays the real Mari. They become friends, and this brings the real Mari closer to Hiroshi. Eventually, Hiroshi and Real Mari start dating, which causes Metal Marie to get jealous. Kind of. She feels really left out and follows Real Mari and her new boyfriend on their dates. She ends up saving people's lives while she's at the spying job, too! Anyway, a girl (Hibiki) who used to like Hiroshi shows up. Hibiki tries to beat up Metal Marie, at which she fails. Why? Because Metal Marie has super-robot strength! The things go on from here, and the story gets a little more dramatic for the rest of this section of the film. Marie does this cute SD thing in-between episodes, and it's really funny.

In the second half of the tape, Metal Marie wants to be able to dream. So she asks Hiroshi to make a program so she can dream. The whole show is about Marie's dreams- and they are really really weird ones, too!

Megan's My Dear Marie Review!

Hiroshi is a big geek. He is weird as well. He tries to play tennis to get closer to a girl named Mari (marie) who he likes a lot. She's really good and he's.. well.. not. He sucks. So usually he just brings balls to the court for the girls, since it's a mostly girl-sport. BUT! Mari has the perfect boyfriend already, and that leaves Hiroshi out of the picture. So, he builds an android named Marie, who looks JUST like Mari. The few differences are: The hair color. Marie has pink hair, and Mari has purple hair. Marie is really outgoing and affectionate, and Mari is a little more shy and reserved.

They are exactly alike in every other way, besides the biotechnology factor... So after Hiroshi builds her, he realizes she needs clothes! So he goes into a women's underwear shop, and Mari sees him there. This does not exactly get a higher rating for Hiroshi.. poor guy. But Marie gets her undies elseways.

Hey.. why do I look like her? And how come we've got the same birthday and we act alike? YOU don't have to wonder these things, but Marie does! She asks this all the time. Soon enough, someone has to come between Marie and Hiroshi. Or Mari and Hiroshi. It's a girl named Hibiki, a childhood friend of Hiroshi's. She is now.. um skronk-obsessed, and ANYWAY! Her and Marie get into a fight over Hiroshi.

Marie wants to dream! So Hiroshi builds the software for that. She's got some psycho dreams.
