Overall Grade: B+ (88%) Wonderful! Mutations (which are so violent and galore), blood, nudity and swearing litter about this masterpiece of. . .SQUARESOFT! No, not LITTER. They make it all the more fun. Great gameplay, too.

Heather's Parasite Eve review

Ok there isn't much I can tell you about this so that I don't ruin any of the plotline. This is an excellent game, although it is NOT for everybody.

Christmas, 1997. Aya Brea is at the opera with some guy, a usual boring date. As they opera starts, Melissa comes on stage. She's an excellent singer, beautiful, and keeps the opera moving at a fast pace. She slowly walks down some stairs... and some knights are bowing at her feet. Suddenly, they burst into flames. The auditorium bursts into flames as well. People are burning everywhere. Aya is the only person there besides Melissa that is not affected. Something is not right...

Aya goes to search for Melissa. She has run off somewhere, and at this rate, she could kill a great many people. As Aya goes to the bottom floor of the theaterhouse, a rat runs in front of her. It looks normal at first, but then it mutates. Into a BIG rat. A rat with skin falling off of it, and extra parts growing on it. It is not a pretty sight.

When Aya finds Melissa, she is playing the piano. She sings beautifully, and plays just as well... then she hits about a million wrong notes and mutates herself into a really weird demon-looking woman. Very cool.

The New York Police Department calls you in to do many jobs. Melissa, who now calls herself Eve (her name from the opera, the character she played was named Eva), is on the rampage. She is killing people, mutating creatures, and breaking into places such as a hospital. But for what? And who is the strange girl that keeps appearing on the scene? Why does she look like Aya's dead sister?

Eve's goal is to impregnate herself with a tube from a sperm bank and give birth to the ultimate being. And trust me, that's NOT a good thing.

Megan's Parasite Eve Review

Parasite Eve is a game based on mitochondria (pay attention in biology and giggle when this word is mentioned. So that way, you know why the mitochondria's doin' the weird things it does, okay? Or ask a science teacher) and it's mutation. Melissa, a hypochondriac, (someone who is constantly afraid they are sick, and thinks that a scratch is impending death) ends up starting a theater on fire, and sings and says weird things to Aya Brea, the woman you play. She's cool, but CANNOT run very fast. in heels OR in running shoes. Then she blasts a hole in the floor and runs off. Aya follows her, only to see a young child in the hallway, and she runs off and giggles, leaving Aya confused. Well, as you progress, lots of crispy people, lots of melting people, and LOTS of mutations! YAY! Melissa transforms into Parasite Eve, who's goal is to harness the power of the mitochondria and does a good job mutating this mitochondria. She is going to impregnate herself, and giv birth to the Ultimite Being. This thing is BAD. BAD BAD BAD! And scarey. Anyway, this is ONLY for mature audiences, there is a lot of sexual innuendo, and plently of swearing and gory mutations and blood! It is SUCH a good game, though! And the sequel is out.
