Heather's X: The Movie review

This is a really wonderful movie about the end of the world. It revolved around the summoning of 14 dragons. There are 7 from the constellation of the "Big Dipper" and 7 just from the Earth. The Earth dragons are evil and will destroy all human life. They are not the side you want to be rooting for (unless you are the type of person who is like "Duuuuuude! The human race is gonna die! YES! The horrible, torturous deaths we will die sounds like fun! Never again will I get to watch my anime! NOOOOOOOOOO, I don't wanna die anymore! You're not cool anymore! NOOOOOOO!") Yeah, ignore that.

A guy named Kamui is told by his mother to go back to Tokyo. The fate of the world rests upon his shoulders, and he must save everyone. She pulls a sword outta her stomach and gives it to him. That had to help his sanity... anyway. He goes back swearing he will protect his childhood friends, Fuma and Kotomi. Well, not everything always works out the way you want it to... a very good point he made in the end... hmmm

There are nudeeeeeeee people. Actually, it's only Kamui's mommy that floats around naked. There is a stripper involved, and it's not like SHE wears a lot of clothes. There is also another slutty woman who wanders around wearing her little stockings and erotic cleavage-bearing... lingerie. The nudity is detailed, and I think they swear, although it's really not bad. There is a ton of violence, and the gore and blood are aplenty (ABOUND!) There is also a lot of references to the end of the world (DUH), which deals with religion and Revelations (for those of you who DON'T know, Revelations is not a fancy underwear brand, but the last book in the Bible... and it describes very graphically what will happen to us poor useless humans. If you ever think the Bible's boring, think again. Read Revelations).

Heather's ratings

Storyline

5/5 I usually say it was "nice" but this time, it was not. It was rather evil. And that is not CLAMP-ish, nor is it something I'm entirely used to. But I liked it -_- <--evil eyes.

Character Development

4/5 It was good on most people, but some were just there.. and then died... and you didn't care...

Plot Depth

5/5 It was almost too deep. It started off throwing you into the plot. You had NO idea what was going on, but PRETENDED you did, much like in Ghost in the Shell.

Music

5/5 It was very good. For those of you who know who X Japan is... er... was... they sang the ending song, "Forever Love." And it is a nicey-purty type song.

Sexual Content

4/5 None, except that a chick stuck her hand inside of Kotomi's shirt.

Nudity

5/5 Within the first five minutes, you get a full-detailed nudee shot of Kamui's mom! Yes! *scoff*

Violence/Gore

1/5 There was a ton. So much, in fact, that there was hardly a scene in it without blood, or a decapitation. I won't ruin the movie for you, but it's like a horror flick. Not everyone's gonna live... okay... so not very many people do.

Animation

5/5 It was nice and detail-ee. CLAMPy poos are goo (goo=good).

Profanity

4/5 Swearing.

Overall goodness

5/5 I liked it! It was sad and confusing at times, but I LIKE it that way!

Totals: 43/50, or very enjoyable. For some people. I recommend it to the occult/gore fans. Not the lovey-dovey-evreything-always-turns-out-okay-because-love-conquers-all people.

YAY! Lots of fun with CLAMP! If you're wondering about this CLAMP stuff, it's not like a Vice Grip or anything. It's a team of four women who all draw really well and make up really unique stories. They did gems such as Magic Knight Rayearth (now you're all saying "ooooh! THEM! I get it now..."), Shamanic Princess, Card Captor Sakura, Clover, and RG Veda.

Megan's X: The Movie Review

Hold on for a moment. I need to wipe my eyeballs... Okay. That was a horribly sad movie. God, I'm such a sap. I can't help it though. (trust me, I never cry about the real world, only my sad little animated one)

Okay. The Seven Dragons of the Earth and the Seven Dragons of Heaven are in a big fat war. If the Seven Dragons of Heaven win, the Earth will be restored to peace. If the Seven Dragons of the Earth win, the human race will be wiped out. Kamui is the head of the Seven Dragons of Heaven and Fuma is the head of the Seven Dragons of the Earth. That sucks. And who (of course, this is a CLAMP work) is caught in the middle? Fuma's sister, Kotori, who Kamui has sworn to protect. Unfortunately, he's also sworn to protect Fuma.... -_-() bad choice.

And may I mention, the ending song is performed by the best of X.. X JAPAN! Who unfortunately broke up... but still!! Gotta love them! *sniff* I loved X Japan. They were so cool. Now, not only am I gonna cry over X (movie) I am going to sniffle over X (band)!

Oh yeah. And with the "evil computer" and "the dreamwatchers" and other not-so-common problems. Did I mention that Kamui is not a normal teenager thrown into this mess? Thank god. There's too many. CLAMP HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! *sob*

Storyline

5/5 Very lovely...

Character Development

5/5 WAHH! Sadness surrounds this movie.

Plot Depth

5/5 Oh yeah. For awhile it was WAY over my head. I felt stupid. Wait.. I am.

Music

5/5 X JAPAN?? Come on! "Forever Love" is great! (grrrreat!)

Sexual Content

4/5 Hand on someone's breast. The thrills *yawn* Oh yeah, you could PROBABLY get some eroticness is you're sadistic. How fun is THAT?

Nudity

4/5 Kamui's mom is naked nice and detailed, first few minutes out of the film.

Violence/Gore

2/5 The problem is in the neck.

Animation

5/5 IT'S FREAKIN' CLAMP!! WHAT DO YOU THINK???

Profanity

4/5 Yeah. But I had a problem with this one. I HATED THE DUBBING. It was aggravating to watch. But who cares? *nervous twitch*

Overall goodness

5/5 Was lovely. But if you're very very Christian, don't bother seeing it. People are strapped to crosses by barbed wire. The problem in the neck? No one's head stayed on the body. Many decapitations. The other problem? You shouldn't hug bloody decapitated heads. (that was one of the saddest parts...) It gets a little disturbing seeing that same person get their head popped off again and again, blood everywhere. Lots of blood. Running through a sea of blood. Blood when limbs get chopped off. Blood when other various injuries happen. BUT! It's a great movie. See it subbed. The dubbing sucks.

Totals: 44/50, or don't let my rating scare ya.

TOTALS PUT TOGETHER: 43.5/50 we both liked it.

*** We rented it dubbed, uncut, and professionally done from Comic Junction ***
