Maybe I should start out by saying that the movie was hilarious. Even my Tom Green - hating - Dad was laughing, so go see the movie. I was lucky I went, it is rated R, and it took a ton of bribing. Anywho.
In the movie, Paulo plays Rubin, a wisecracking genius. He can do anything from physics to physiology, geometry, foreign languages, you name it. The weird thing about his character is that he's on crack. I am not kidding. The way he explains it is the drugs are the only things leveling him out. Uh... It was kind of unexpected. I don't think the character of Rubin would have been as funny, if it
hadn't been Paulo playing it. I mean, I'd give anything to see Jason Behr in Road Trip, but I think Paulo did really well, despite his attempts at being Ax on Animorphs Tv.
One of the good things about his character was that he wasn't speaking very slowly, and using proper
English. It was kinda cool to see that. Not to mention that one of his best moments in the movie is when he's talking to the old guy (Barry/Tom Green's Grandfather).
He's telling the old guy about how crack keeps him out of therapy, and stops him from going nuts, stuff like that. I think he did that really well. He didn't seem like a weird, scorpian like alien, at all.
So, he did really well. He kept the genius title, and the level head and still wasn't boring. And he was also incredibly funny. So, I guess it's safe to say that it was
Ani-TV's fault that he played Ax so boringly. Of course, maybe it's just because he can't play Ax, but either way Road Trip was hilarious. The movie did have alot of nudiety, and alot of sick humor, but I enjoyed it, for the most part. If your parents allow it, or your over the age, I would recommend seeing it!
