Please forgive my delayed updating of our web site. I have had some particularly troublesome e-mail difficulties over the last three weeks. If anyone has e-mailed me, please send me another e-mail! All my e-mail was lost!
Here is an update on Student Committee Activities for you:

Bi-Annual Report - March 2002 thru November 2002

The Student Committee has been hard at work for you and has produced the Bi-Annual Report to the SfAA Executive Board. It will be presented at the Fall SfAA Board Meeting during the AAA meeting.
Please take a moment, review it and provide some comments to assist us! There is a brief synopsis and a full report.

SfAA Student Committee's: Conference Connection

I hope everyone took advantage of the wonderful invitation by SfAA to present, organize and participate in the 2003 Conference in Portland, Oregon this year. Student response to the Conference Connection has been overwhelmingly positive. Thanks!

SfAA Past President & Student Luncheon

One of the best ways to get to know prominent applied anthropologists in an informal setting is the SfAA Past Presidents & Students Luncheon. It's not stuffy; it's a sit down lunch where we sit a Past President to the right and left of you. All of the Past Presidents are very friendly and make time out of their schedules just to talk to YOU!.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that 25 students have lunch on us?

A web site run by the Australian National Library that lists the picture collections of about sixteen contributing libraries:

When I checked it out I found that many of the photographs are quite early; that the search function is very good; and that it has an abundant supply of images. Just searching for two topics brought up over 2800 images re New Guinea, for example; and many re aboriginal Australian art.

I'd like you to know about a new fellowship opportunity at the Library of Congress. The following text has been excerpted from LC's website; please see www.loc.gov/rr/mopic/cokefellowship/ for further details on requirements and applications.

The fellowship will provide recipients with access to resources for an extended period of in-depth, multi-disciplinary research into the Library's broadcast advertising and other audio-visual collections. A supporting stipend of $20,000 will be provided for the duration of the fellowship, which must include three months residency in the Washington, DC, area to conduct research in the Library s collections. Scholars of all nationalities are invited to apply.

Selection of the Coca-Cola Fellow will be made by the Librarian of Congress upon the recommendation of a three-person Selection Committee, chosen from the broader academic community. The Selection Committee members will be appointed by the Librarian of Congress in consultation with the staff of the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division.
