NEWS

I very much enjoyed the Children's Writer's & Illustrators conference at Oxford this summer.

Falling into Fear has been choosen as Children's Book of the Month at Ottakers, Sunderland.

Falling into Fear, my new children's book, is now published.

Catherine is a deaf girl whose mum is seriously ill so, she finds herself staying with grandparents for the summer. At first she is alarmed to find that she keeps slipping back into the past: she learns what it is like to be bombed in a war, to live as a Roman slave and to encounter wolves. But Catherine's experiences teach her to come to terms with the difficulties of modern, everyday life.

I have a piece called Frustration in an anthology, "Laughing, not Laughing," published by Honno.

I have a new piece in "If Life is a Game...These are the Stories" edited by Cherie Carter-Scott called, "My First Apple Tree." It is about how my father tied an apple on to my apple tree when my mother threatened to cut it down because it had no apples on it!
