The War on Christmas
My calendar still calls December 25 "Christmas Day".
Not "Holiday Day", not "Seasons Greetings Day", not "Gifting Day".
I'm the last one you would expect to defend the practice of Christianity, but I'm on their side on this one. Next thing you know, Independence Day will become something else for fear of offending "those who are not independent". New Year's Day will become "January Day" for fear of offending cultures with a different calendar.
I give you my personal guarantee that the Muslims will NEVER refer to Ramadan as "Fasting and Prayer Month". They don't care who they offend and neither should Christians or politicians. Let's not let the monkeys win this one.

Face Transplant

I think I really may actually have brain damage. Just exactly what is the controversy over face transplants? What's the big deal? No one objects to heart, liver, kidney, lung, etc. transplants. There's not even a problem with skin grafts or cosmetic face surgery. I just don't get it. Someone enlighten me please.

New problems for face transplant doctors

Prussian Blue

It's not hard to see what agenda their parents have encouraged the girls to promote in their music.
The images on their shirts are not product logos or popular teen idols. They are images of a man who was responsible for more death, destruction and worldwide chaos and misery than anyone else in the history of the HUMAN race.
To praise and encourage Prussian Blue is a crime against ALL humanity.

Note: "prussian blue" is a reference to the gas Zyklon-B used by the Nazis to kill millions of people during World War 2.

Viet-Iraq?
Mood:  cheeky
For those who compare the war in Iraq to the "police action" in Viet Nam, you need to look at the facts before you start jumping to conclusions.
In Viet Nam we invaded a foreign country to put down a terrorist regime and to help the people establish a democratic government.
We claimed that terrorist elements would maintain power in the entire region for years to come if not stopped in this one place.
We tried to train a domestic army and police force to protect the new democracy, with the effect of increased aggression against them by insurgents.
We provided billions of dollars in aid to the civilian population to rebuild their country after we tried to destroy it.
There was an organized insurgent element within the country which caused as many casualties as actual warfare, and would stop at nothing to drive the invading forces from its country.
The war dragged on for years with no lasting benefits to the people because the insurgent element would destroy anything we accomplished and would constantly terrorize anyone who was on our side.
Our leaders would lie to us and tell us that all was well and that we were "this close" to victory, but we needed more troops and more money to succeed.

So its not that hard to see if iraq and Viet Nam really have anything in common.

More "duct tape and plastic"
Mood:  incredulous
Bush apparently subscribes to the "keep them scared about something all the time" theory of leadership. Now we learn that bird flu is coming and will end civilization as we know it. You can put all that duct tape and plastic you got for the chemical war to good use this time and seal youself up against the flu.

Millions will die this time for sure

Faith vs. Fact
Mood:  party time!
Most who believe in the intelligent design theory wouldn't know intelligence if it walked up and bit them in the ass. They should just retreat into their little make-believe world with their special imaginary friends and leave the science to the grownups.

Do science and Christianity conflict? (sometimes known as Chrisitianity)

The Hurricane that went somewhere else
Mood:  lazy
The hurricane took a right turn and missed my house by 50 miles. But I didn't even get a drop of rain. On Saturday night there was a steady stream of traffic on the road in front of the house - headed North. I wondered if I had missed something, and then decided not to load 6 dogs into the car and run for the hills. I would have missed some very pleasant weather.

Missing children update
Mood:  vegas lucky
It looks like there aren't 2400 children missing. The Red Cross rep now says there are only 3 and they aren't really missing.

Hurricane
Mood:  quizzical
Hurricane heading for my house. I'm 300 miles inland but they are saying 65 mph winds here, 4-6 inches rain. Good thing they didn't repo the boat yet.

City of the Lost Children
Mood:  d'oh
The latest news coming out of New Orleans is that 2400 children are missing.
How do you lose 2400 children?
Apparently someone had to survive to report them as missing. And if they are OK then where did they leave their kids?
"Well, we were evacuating the city and when I looked around I realized we had forgotten to bring the kids! If anyone sees them just let us know."
