BUILDUP OF NUCLEAR SUBMARINE Most of China's sub force are obsolete, but is quickly modernizing. China has 1-2 Xia class(nuclear ballistic missile submarine), 4-5 Han class(nuclear attack submarines), 2 Song class(2,3 more are being built, cruise submarines), and has 2 kilos(12 more being built,the quietest submarine on the planet). |

XIA CLASS SUBMARINE The picture at the left is a Xia class submarine. It weighs around 5,000-6,000 tons. It carries 12 JL-1 SLBMs(going to be replaced with 12 JL-2 SLBMs). Each JL-1 missile has a range of 1,200-2,000 miles, and carries a warhead. Each JL-2 missile has a range of 8,000 km and carries 3,4 warheads. |

THIS IS A HAN CLASS SUB The submarine at the left is in the nuclear attack submarines Han class. There are 4,5 of these. These are first generation chinese SSNs.
