Saint Peter and Paul's Cathedral

Cathdral InfoSaint Peter and Paul Photographs
I do not know much about the history of St. Peter and Paul's. This monolith of a church, located at the base of telegraph hill, can be seen form all of the surrounding hills. The summer I spent taking the San Francisco Virtual Photo Tour I would spy this cathedral from the surrounding hills and I would tell myself one day that I would find out where it was located. The facade of Saint Peter and Paul's appears to be gothic, however the rest of the building lacks the gothic charm. Saint Peter and Paul's is economically placed in an area bustling with businesses and homes with a nice park in front of it. It is a Roman Catholic establishment, but the Arch Bishop is seated at the New St. Mary's cathedral. I've included it here because I like the front of the building, as well as the amount of time it took to figure out where this gigantic, white monolith was located.

People apparently have lunch in the park surrounding the cathedral and are warmly created with "Church Bells" playing a song each hour. Apparently one of the local residences, who knew he was moving into a home next to a church with two bell towers, tried to sue the church over the playing of the bells. He lost. Twin Towers

One of the things that attracted me to the cathedral were its twin towers. As you can see from these pictures, the towers, as well as the cathedral, stands out from everything around it.
