The Transamerican Pyramid is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco. I am told that the Transamerican Pyramid is San Francisco's tallest building at 853 feet. Though more a needle or arrow than a classical Pyramid this building shoots out of the Finical District's sky line. Built by the Transamerican Company this building houses the offices of numerous Finical District businesses. Being so tall, it is easy to spot from all over the city, if a hill is not in your way. Some people say this building is an eyesore, but I disagree, it gives the sky line something different than rectangular office buildings. There is suppose to be a fantastic view from the observation deck. Visitors are not allowed up there though because its only 4 feet wide. But there are cameras that view out in four directions showing the city from over 800 feet. It is a land mark that can be view
from most places in the city and is often featured in photos from the air of San Francisco.
