Generation I

Lieutenant John William Warwick was born about 1710 in England.

Lt. Warwick was a surveyor for the British Crown and lived much of his life in Williamsburg, VA. He also obtained a large tract of land in western Virginia which he called "Dunmore." Portions of this land later became the town of Dunmore, VA (now WV). He married Elizabeth Dunlap of Middlebrook, VA. He and Elizabeth had four children, all born in Williamsburg. In the early 1750's, Lt. Warwick returned to England for reasons unknown and was never heard from again. Elizabeth was remarried in 1755 to Robert Sitlington. Children Charles and Elizabeth were placed in school in Williamsburg where they died of fever. Child John also died young. The only surviving child, Jacob, inherited the Dunmore lands.

He married Elizabeth Dunlap. She was born about 1721 in Middlebrook, VA. She was the daughter of Captain Alexander Dunlap and Elizabeth MacFarlane. View the Dunlap line here.

Their children were:

Charles Warwick

Elizabeth Warwick

John Warwick

Jacob Warwick (born 1743 in Williamsburg, VA)
