This family has its roots in West
Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania with various stragglers from
around New England. Before that they could be found primarily in
Germany (Black Forest/Palatinate emigrants who became known as
Pennsylvania Dutch), Scotland, and England.

Generation I
Jacob Shinnebarger was born about 1760 in Germany. He died July 1822 in
Highland Co, VA.
He married Margaret Ann. She
was born 9 August 1768.
