Founders Park is just across the street from Arlington Townhomes.  The Arlington Townhomes Complex sits on the property that once comprised the Johnson Plantation.  Colonel Johnson owned the plantation. He is known as the father of Tarrant County.  Near here the first post office was built. And there is an  artesian well that still feeds Johnson Creek today.

If you follow the bike and hiking trails in Founders Park you will go to Vandergriff Park. This park was named after another prominent local family.  This park has a pool, baseball fields, horsehoe pits, football and soccor fields and a large Community Center.
