  • Grew up supporting Leeds and started his career there before being transferred to Peterborough.

  • Won first cap with England whilst playing for Queens Park Rangers in 1988 against Saudi Arabia (1-1)

  • Joined Arsenal in May of 1990 for a then English record of £1.3m

  • Had Arsenal debut on 25/8/90 against Wimbledon, a 3-0 victory.

  • Unbeaten in first 17 matches for Arsenal

  • Won league in first season with Arsenal, losing only once against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

  • Led Arsenal to a domestic cup double in 1993, never before done.

  • The following season Seaman leads Arsenal to an inspiring cup winners cup title conquering Parma in the finals. 

  • the 1994-95 season shows Seaman helping Arsenal to the cup winners final once more but they are unable to repeat their 1994 victory losing to Real Zaragoza in the final.  The second leg of the Semifinal against Sampdoria went to penalties and Seaman played magnificently saving 3 of the 5 against him.

  • England's number one for Euro 96 with England leading England to the semifinals where they lost to Germany.

  • Missed a fair lot of the 1996-97 season to injury leaving John Lukic to deputise

  • Out again for some of the 1997-98 season leaving Alex Manninger to start

  • However healthy during most Arsenal's double winning season clinching their second such league and cup double

  • Juventus bid £6m for Seaman in August 1998 as a replacement for Angelo Peruzzi but the bid was immediately rejected by Arsenal.

  • Helped arsenal to the best defence in Europe for 1998-99 conceding only 17 league goals.
