Foundation Vienna houses a comprehensive collection of international 20th
century art.
In the 20er Haus along with Joseph Beuys, works by artists such as Hanne Darboven, Günther Förg, Peter Halley, Donald Judd, Bertrand Lavier, Sol LeWitt, Mario Merz, Pino Pascali and Bruce Nauman can be seen. The Austrian avant-garde is represented by Peter Kogler, Hartmut Skerbisch, Franz West, Heimo Zobernig, and others. In the sculpture garden, works by Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, Fritz Wotruba and others can be viewed. In the Palais Liechtenstein a cross-section of 20th century international art is shown. Special rooms are dedicated to the various art movements from Expressionism (e.g., Alexej Jawlensky, Oskar Kokoschka) over Cubism (e.g., Albert Gleizes, Fernand Leger), Futurism (e.g.,Giacomo Balla), Constructivism (e.g., Josef Albers, Antoine Pevsner), Surrealism (Max Ernst, René Magritte,) to Nouveau Réalisme (e.g., Arman, Martial Raysse), Vienna Actionism (e.g., Hermann Nitsch, Arnulf Rainer), and Pop Art (Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol). International painting of the eighties and nineties (e.g., Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, Jörg Immendorff, Ernesto Tatafiore) will round off the survey of 20th century art. In addition there will be 5 special shows a year, in which the museum will attempt to mediate between the Baroque ambient of the Palais Liechtenstein and contemporary art." Some Artists: Günther Förg
