My work strives to find the ideal relationship among dissimilar objects that reveals a culturally meaningful statement steeped in the oral and visual tradition of OutSider Art. My images seek to connect the OutSider tradition in a "contemporary rooting" of Vernacular Art

(A visual language of imagery that reflects the contemporary black culture much like a visual "oral history.")

 

This vernacular exploration and expression has led me to creating works for Public Art; to put back what I have found in culturally relevant imagery to a place where it communicates more effectively; on a wall.
