The Crossing panel is one of three
concepts, which explores the issues of slavery as a universal political “machine” that churns out evidence of
its inhumanity through institutional acts of brutality against humanity of all kinds, and legalized acts of racial "disempowerment" by
those who act as agents for racism.
The Crossing depicts the Atlantic
Passage. Ships churned over; bodies lay in the waters in endless patterns of
machine-life posts caught in a wave machine destroying evidence of black culture in its wake.
