Q.
How can I get the most dramatic, shiny look on my lips?
A.
High glossed, dramatic lips look exceptional when a little bronzer is coated
underneath the shine.
Q.
I love cheek jelly gloss stuff on my cheeks! One thing: Can I use it on my lips
also for a just a trace of color?
A.
If you think it looks great, go ahead and do it. (One tip, don't let it in
your mouth. Yuck) Tip: For sheer color with a touch of shine, try one layer of
Tinted Lip gloss? Formulated for lips, it will provide longer-lasting color. One
word of caution: never use Cheek Jelly , or any product NOT formulated for the
eyes, around the eye area.
Q.
No matter what color of foundation I buy, it always looks different on my skin.
A.
Sometimes cosmetic counters use incandescent light that can make skin look more
yellow and golden than natural light will. When shopping for foundation in the
store, walk around and look at a test of the color on your skin in different
lighting to make sure you are happy in a variety of lighting conditions.
Remember, the final color achieved is always a mixture of your skin color, the
foundation color.
Q.
My friends wear extreme looks, but I don't feel comfortable in them... What can
I wear that's cool but not overly haute?
A.
A little bit of shine goes a long way these days. Iridescent Powder on bare
skin, provides shine without making you look like a glitter queen. Lip gloss is
great too, adding a sexy shine, without going overboard.
Q.
I'm off to the beach and am concerned about blotches and other skin
imperfections on my body.
A.
Look for water-resistant, smooth to apply, Face and Body Foundation. It should
provide enough coverage to cover up blotches, correct other skin irregularities
and still allow you to get in the swim.
Q.
I Hate the sun. Don't want a tan. But want to look sun-kissed. Any
"faux" fixes?
A.
Bronzing Body Powder works on skin to provide a sunny bronze glow with added
sheen.
Q.
I love the idea of mixing your own lipstick colors. Any tips?
A.
I love lip mixes because it gives the freedom to customize color and texture.
Here are some starter tips: Always mix with a brush or mixing spatula. Start
with a dab. A little color or texture will go a long way. Experiment. All colors
and textures can be blended in any combination or ratio - its up to you to
decide what you like. Texture-wise, Gloss or Matte will make any color more
emollient, while Gloss will make any color more sheer. Shade-wise, try the
following: For a vibrant red, blend a deep red stain with a touch of White. For
a strong burgundy shade, add a SLIGHT touch of Black to a Red. For a unique
orange, mix a dab of Yellow color with a Red stain.
Q.
I sometimes put my lipstick on my lips, cheeks and will even apply some to my
eyes. Is there a problem with this?
A.
Don't put lipstick on your eyes. As I said earlier, it can be damaging or
irritating to your eyes. Try cream colored Base, a specially formulated
multi-functional make up. Cream Color can be used on eyes, lips, cheeks or any
part of the skin.
