Your chart is divided into twelve Houses, each representing a certain part of your life. An astrological chart takes the form of a circle: the planets are arranged along the perimeter of the circle, and the Houses divide the circle up into segments, like the segments of an orange.

The House that a particular planet is in shows you the area of your life which that planet may be influencing. For example, the Seventh House refers to marriage. This means that if Venus moves into this part of your chart, it could signify a significant improvement in an existing relationship, or that an important new relationship may be about to happen.

Another important house is the Second House. Among other things, this refers to money. For example, if Jupiter moves into this area of your chart this could signify the start of a period of increased prosperity. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) move very slowly, and may spend several years in the same part of your chart.
