Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second largest in the Solar System with a diameter of 119,300 kilometers. Saturn has a rapid rotation, with its day lasting only 10 hours, 39 minutes, but its year is 29.5 Earth years long. Saturn is the only planet less dense than water, so Saturn would float in an ocean if it were wide enough. Its atmosphere is similar to Jupiter, though the band features on the planet are much fainter. Winds on Saturn can reach speeds up to 500 meters per second. Saturn has 18 confirmed moons, and as many as 4 new objects have been found which could be classified as moons. Titan is the largest moon, and the only moon in the Solar System to have an atmosphere.

Saturn is famous for its ring system, making it one of the most beautiful objects in the Solar System. The rings have various gpas, with the most prominant being the Cassini division. The gap was discovered by Giovanni Cassini in 1675, and seperates the A and B rings. The Voyager spacecraft discovered that the ringsa are actually a combonation of thousands of narrow ringlets. The material of the rings most likely came from one or more moons shattered by meteorite and comet impacts.
