   The "222" was produced from 1936 - 1943.
The production amount for the "222" was 989, nearly three times the amount of the SdKfz 221.
The SdKfz 222 was the standard armored car assinged to Light Amored Car companies.
There was two types of "222" made during the war, the second type being the same number. It was upgraded in horsepower and a few other minor details.
It's small size, high speed and manuerability offered some protection from enemy fire.
It was equipped with anti-grenade mesh on the open turret.
They served on all fronts from 1939 - 1945.
The SdKfz "223" was the same vehicle, but was fitted with a  long range radio and fold up aerial and carried only a MG. These were produced from 1935 - 1944.
Opinion on deployment : One for the "Rats" - I can't strees enough that this vehicle is a definate must for War #1, by 1941. I will petition for it, if it is not included in the Battle of France.
