The continuing story of my 1970 Austin America.

New Years Day 2002
" Cheers, and Happy New Year!"

A big year in store for the America.

The driveability problems of 2001 were resolved, and I was excited to put some miles on the America this year.  There were quite a number of all British car shows throughout California and even one in Arizona that we planned to attend.

This year with the website in full swing and the 40th Anniversary of the 1100 line, I was looking forward to attending as many shows as possible.  I was also looking forward  to trying to get other America owners to join me.

Our first show of the year, "Wheels of Britain" in Phoenix, Arizona was a great success.  Getting the award for the furthest car driven was a nice surprise, and very ironic.  I always take pride in the fact that we drive our car to all events, especially when overhearing some of the negative comments made by spectators and fellow show attendees.
