Time: 25mins |
Time: 5mins |
Time: 2-3mins |
Time: How fast can
you trace? |
Step 5: Cut out new trunk
floor |
|
Step 7: Cut out shapes |
A saber saw works best for this.
Should come out
something like this...
|
For
this, you'll most definitely want a 2nd pair of hands...and a table saw.
Take your time with each cut, you want the edges straight! |
|
Step 8: Assemble airtight box |
Step 6: Outline next cuts
the following shapes will
need to be cut out
|
Now its
time to take all of the pieces you just cut out...and start putting them
together! Generesouly coat them with wood glue, and pre drill each and every
screw. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then come back and caulk ALL edges
generously! We want this airtight. Then let the caulk sit for about 2 hours.
Looks like this!! ^^ |
Quantity of each shape, and
dimensions:
Shape 1: (2)6in x 13in
Shape 2: (1) 11.5in x 32in
Shape 3: (1)11.5in x 5.25in
Shape 4: (2)6in x 32in |
Step 9: Attach airtight box to trunk floor |
Easy..just center it
onto the trunk floor, pre-drill, and screw it on |
Step 10: Cut speaker holes and apply carpet |
You'll need to cut
11" diameter holes for 12" subs. Take the stock carpet from your trunk, use
spray adhesive, and spray it right to your trunk floor. Fits like magic!
Then cut the holes for your speakers in the carpet. Then you will want to
fill the airtight area with cotton, pop the subs in, screw them in. And wire
it...by screwing a hole in each section for the wires. Then have someone
help you wedge it into the trunk, hook it up, and your ready to go!! |
