 His best known and most loved
performance is as 'Compo' in Last Of
The Summer Wine which has been
running for over 25 years.
 Veteran of many, many films
before the character 'Compo' came along, including Carve
Her Name With Pride and Trottie
True. The latter is notable for the
appearance of a very young Dilys Laye in the role of
'young Trottie' - Jean Kent (from the Rogers/Thomas film Please
Turn Over) played 'Trottie' in her
later years!
