Brandon Ashley - 103

(1-2, 1pin, 4 team pts, DNP)

BACK

Brandon started the tournament in great style with a pin of Victor Harkness of Mt. Baker. In the quarterfinal match with Kincaid, Brandon recorded a couple takedowns to lead 4-3 in the second. While trying to escape from Kincaid in the second period, Brandon was taken to his back and was pinned with just 3 seconds remaining in the round. In his final match with DeLeon, Brandon built an early 7-3 lead, but DeLeon came back with a head and arm to take the lead 8-7. Brandon then got in deep on a double leg, but hurt his back as DeLeon countered. DeLeon was awared the takedown. Brandon escaped and took DeLeon down to tie it at 10. DeLeon went ahead on an escape 11-10 and held off Brandon for the win. This was a learning experience for Brandon who still has two years left to grab that state title.
