ASU Professor Ersula Ore falsely arrested by ASU police???

ASU Professor Ersula Ore arrested for refusing to give cops ID???

Since when is it illegal to refuse to give the cops an ID??? You don't need to have a "drivers license" to talk down the street!!!!

"Ore refused to provide her driver's license after she was asked multiple times, ordered to present it, and warned she would be arrested if she failed to present her license, police said."
There is only one Supreme Court case on this that I know of and that was Hiibel v Nevada, and even in that case you are NOT required to give the police and ID card. In Hiibel v Nevada you are ONLY required to verbally tell the police your name. And that is ONLY if the police have "reasonable suspicion" to detain you.

About 10 years ago I filed a lawsuit against ASU and ASU bicycle cop Larry Fuchtman about this very same matter. See:

Here is the article from the May 30 issue of the Arizona Republic in which is seems like the ASU Police falsely arrested Professor Ersula Ore.

An Arizona State University English professor was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a university police officer after the two got into a confrontation when the professor was walking down the middle of a Tempe street, according to court documents.

ASU Professor Ersula Ore falsely arrested by ASU police Ersula Ore, a professor of English, was walking in the middle of College Avenue near Fifth Street in Tempe on May 20 when an ASU police officer approached her, according to court documents.

Ore refused to provide her driver's license after she was asked multiple times, ordered to present it, and warned she would be arrested if she failed to present her license, police said.

Ore resisted arrest by refusing to place her hands behind her back and instead wrapped her leg around the officer in an attempt to throw him off balance, according to the documents.

Ore dented and scratched an ASU police vehicle and, after being handcuffed by additional officers who arrived on the scene, she kicked the arresting officer in the shin.
