Bass Fishing

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler. Fall is upon us and so is some great fall fishing. The bass on Cooper Lake have already started there fall feeding frenzy. It's time to charge the batteries and respool your reels and get in on some of the best bass fishing of your life!
Be sure to drop in to John's Creek Lodge and pick up your supplies or to weigh your trophy lunker on our certified digital scales.

Lodging

We also have over night accomadations in our newly built rooms. Each room is complete with microwave, micro-fridge, air conditioner, shower and televison. We have outdoors grills available along with cover carports and outside recepticles for battery charging. Rates are $55.00 a night for double occupancy tax included. $10.00 each per additional guest.


Duck Hunting

Not only does Cooper Lake offer some of the fastest action sport fishing in North Texas but also has some of the best duck hunting in North Texas. Many hunters make Cooper Lake a combination duck hunt and fishing trip. With the abundance of water fowl most sportsman are able to limit out early and spend the rest of day catching hybrid stripers, white bass, largemouth and crappie. Budweiser ShareLunker Program

Anglers will be offered the option of permanently donating their lunker catches to the program for ongoing research and hatchery production. In exchange, the ShareLunker program provides anglers with a fiberglass replica of their catch. This year, the ShareLunker program is offering additional incentives to participating anglers. Texas residents who donate or lend their catch to the program will receive a $600 Lifetime Resident Fishing License and recognition at the annual awards banquet at the TFFC. Non-resident anglers will have $600 donated in their name to the Parks and Wildlife Foundation's ShareLunker endowment fund.
Anyone catching a 13-pound-plus largemouth bass is eligible to participate by calling (903) 670-2226 weekdays or by paging (888) 784-0600 weekends and evenings.
