Welcome to my page dedicated to my former A's left fielder/right fielder...Ben Grieve. On January 8th, 2001, Ben was traded from the Oakland A's to the Tampa Bay Rays. Although, as an A's fan, I will miss Ben, I wish him the best where ever he goes, and will still follow his career.
I first remember Ben when he was drafted by the A's in 1994. I soon then received my first Ben Grieve card. On September 3, 1997, the Oakland Athletics called up a 21 year old right fielder from Edmonton. Ben started that night, and proceeded to go 3-4 with three doubles (tying an Oakland record) and 5 RBI's in Oakland's 12-3 win over the Giants. Lucky for me, I was there that night! I've been a big fan ever since.

Martin HS (Arlington, TX) in 1994...Was a Baseball America High School All-American his senior season after hitting .486...Also played basketball and was all-district...Signed by Tim Holt...Father Tom was the number one pick of the Washington Senators in 1966, making the Grieves the first father-son combination taken in the first round...Tom spent nine seasons in the majors with Washington, Texas, the Mets and St. Louis..hit .249 with 65 HR and 254 RBI...He was also the Rangers General Manager from 1984-94...Ben resides in Arlington, Texas during the off-season...Sponsors “Ben's Buddies”, a program for local youth organizations. Married, wife's name is Kathy.
