The Oakland A's pitcher put together another stuning year on the mound.  This year they were led by Cy Young award runner up Mark Mulder.  Mulder went 21-8  leading the league in wins with a 3.45 ERA. Mulder wasn't the only star of the staff...the A's had 4 of the top 10 leaders in ERA.  Led by Hudson (5th, 3.37) and followed by Mulder (7th, 3.45), Zito (8, 3.49) and Lidle (10th, 3.59).  No other team had more than two playes in the top ten.  The ERA catagory was not the only one in which the A's pitchers appeared.  

Finished within the top 5 of the AL pitching catagories:

Not only the individual feats, but as a staff, the A's were one of the best in the AL.  Their team ERA of 3.59 was second to only the Seattle Mariners, second in wins with 102, 4th in strikeouts with 1117, tied for third in shut outs with 9, second in complete games with 13, and gave up the least walks in the AL.  Comparing them to all of baseball, they were still tied for second in ERA (with the Braves), second in complete games, and only one team in baseball gave up less walks than the A's.  Check out all their stats below.
