One of the Five Bragan Brothers [See Bragan Five]. One of the most colorful performers in baseball. Bobby started as a shortstop, then became a catcher with the 1947 Dodgers. Bragan was a lively minor league manager, wrangling with umpires and creating headlines every day. He served as Texas League manager and as President of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues. First manager of the relocated Atlanta Braves franchise. His managerial record was 443-478 (.481) while being the skipper of Pittsburgh (NL) 1956-1957, Cleveland (AL) 1958, Milwaukee (NL) 1963-1965, and Atlanta (NL) 1966. Established the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation in Fort Worth in 1991, providing scholarships for 8th graders.
