How to get to Mazo Beach:

Head north on Hwy 12 out of Madison, or south on Hwy 12 out of Baraboo/Wis Dells towards Sauk City.

Just south of Sauk City, and just south of the Wisconsin River is Hwy78 (at Green Acres Restaurant, yes, really green acres)...

Take Hwy 78 southwest about 1 mile to County Road Y and turn right....

Follow "Y" about 4 miles around past the canoe launch and past the mobile home park...

About a 1/2 mile past the mobile home park on your right will be Laws Drive, there is a small street sign on the corner that says Laws Dr but it is not always easy to see at 45 MPH...

(This is a little confusing because Laws Drive actually is a semi circle road that circles back to the mobile home park. Where you want to turn is the "2nd" Laws Drive that is a half mile past the mobile home park NOT the "1st" Laws Drive that is one block past the mobile home park. If you accidentally turn on the wrong "1st" Laws Drive it's not a big deal because you will circle around either way, but then these directions will be backwards)

Turn right onto Laws and follow it about 1/4 to 1/2 mile to the 1st gravel road on your left. This is Conservation Rd but it is not marked with any signs at the corner. Usually, though, you will see other beachgoers turning in or coming out here so you can follow them. You'll know you're on the right road when you see the signs that say "State Riverway"...

Now follow this gravel road slowly (no more than 15-20 MPH) past the first parking lot on your left about 1 1/2 miles further to the beach parking lot, if you're lucky. So, if you want Rock Star parking, plan to arrive early!

The beach is about 24 miles from Middleton/West Madison and about 9 miles from Sauk City.
