An excellent question my young web surfer. Or old web surfer. Awana is a boys and girls church club that has been around for over fifty years. Originally it was started by a man named Lance Latham in Chicago but has since spread to well over 100 countries worldwide. It's main focus has always been on the importance of scripture in the lives of young people and of course fun. :-) Some of us at GCA have been in Awana for an unbelievable amount of time and are convinced that God has used it to make a positive difference in many lives. The key verse for Awana is 2 Tim 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
