Keyes 2000 - The Right Stuff

Politics is a funny thing. To alot of people, it is about “winning for the party”. For me, it is about getting good people into positions where they can make a difference.

Alan Lee Keyes is one of those great people.

The basic thread that runs through all his beliefs is that individual empowerment and responsibility is what the US and our freedom is all about.

I guess that this is a basic conservative principle as well.

The media seems to identify all candidates by a single issue. My dad used to call this “bumper sticker logic”. (def: the belief that people can only remember as much as one can fit on a bumper sticker)

Well, Alan Keyes is known as the cruisader for the rights of the unborn, and there is  no hiding it, he stands firmly behind that belief, and presents very strong pro-life arguments to anyone who will listen. I beleive that Alan and his many of his supports are proud of that position.

But Alan Keyes is much more than a one-trick pony. He has strong positions on many important issues, and his arguments for those positions are no less impressive.

Alan Keyes isn’t just a conservative who spouts off conservative principles because he knows there are conservatives who want to hear them. Alan Keyes actually beleives in the things he aspouses. You can tell that he believes in them, because he can explain WHY he holds his beliefs. He explains himself like a guy who has in fact thought through some of the tough issues, and run all of the arguments, history and logic back and forth in his brain.

He doesn’t just read a poll and formulate an opinion to match!

But enough of my opinion. Look at the links at the right which take you to more complete and official Alan Keyes web sites.

Included in the list are links to organization sites that Alan formed or worked for. There too you will find Alan’s writing, and you can learn about his positions and again, how he thought himself to those positions.

Enjoy!
