About these Buchanans and Watsons

Andrew and Jane Buchanan and their seven sons and daughter came from Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland 1847, and settled in the Donegal area of Perth County, Upper Canada (Ontario). Three of their children married Watsons. Most of their children were also pioneer settlers in the Neepawa and Riding Mountain, Manitoba about 1880.

James Watson and Elizabeth Linnen both came from the border country of Scotland to Edwardsburgh township, Grenville county, Ontario about 1820. They married across the border in New York state on 1 Nov 1821. In 1879 some of their children were pioneers the Neepawa area of Manitoba, with their Buchanan relatives. Their son David also married a Jane Buchanan, but so far I have been unable to see how she connects with our Buchanans. Ann Thompson Buchanan referred to a child adopted by her parents-in-law after her mother died. She referred to this child as "Little Jane" Buchanan, so called to distinguish between her and their daughter Jane Buchanan. Is it the same person? I suspect so, but I can't be sure.
