Today I received my 6.5:1 DL gears from Calmini. After taking
pictures of the kit, I decided to come up with a little Samurai transfer case
reference page where I will list different gear sets, tooth counts, ratios,
pictures, and other info on them.
The Calmini 6.5:1 DL gear kit
I had the Petroworks GRSII gearset prior to this one so I was able to take down
information such as tooth counts.
I thought it would be nice to have picture comparisons of a few different gear
sets available for the Samurai. This picture shows a Petroworks GRSII Input gear
next to a 84 SJ 410 Input gear.
The gears from an 84 SJ410 can be used with Samurai gears to make a 4.16:1
transfer case.
Here we have the Petroworks GRSII high output gear next to a SJ 410 high output
gear. Unfortunately I don't have a SJ410 counter gear available, so there won't
be comparison pictures of that, but I do have the tooth counts..

Samurai & GRSII Counter Gears
Complete gear sets less the low output gear (both use stock Samurai low output
gears).

sets), and a stock Samurai high output gear

a table I made to organize this info
I am in need of the following gear tooth counts and any pictures:
- Calmini 5.8:1 DL Counter High Gear tooth count
- Calmini 5.8:1 DL Counter Input Gear tooth count
- All tooth counts for Rockhopper 6.1:1 gears (Australian made)
- "Sumo 6.1:1" Input gear tooth count. These are the same gears
RRO sells.

One last thing I found rather interested is that calmini states on their
website that "NO GRINDING or CUTTING is required to install!".
When flipping through their installation intructions manual today I discover
that they actually mention that grinding *may* be required... ?
Hopefully this information will proove to be useful to someone.
