Lecompte's Look....

DON'T FORGET TO ORDER THE SCW'S FEBRUARY PAY-PER-VIEW, "NO LOVE LOST"....

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to your favorite critic and mine....ME!! Although the SCW took another dip in the ratings this past week, there were a few bright spots on Showtime. However, before we get to the noteworthy events, we must cover the not so exciting ones which took place this past Sunday as well.

First, in a continuation of my rantings and ravings from last week, I must say that I strongly disagree with the SCW's decision to put power in the hands of LSD. Now I realize that Edward Brown is in desperate need of ratings, but L.S. Dynamite as the CEO? And to top it all off, LDS's first order of business was a direct and defiant act towards Edward Brown's previous ruling....

"LSD: You know I have been hearing all week about why wasn't the tag match booked as a tag team title match. Well see that match wasn't booked by me, it was booked by Mr. Brown himself. So I guess he didn't want his boys, Bad Element to lose their titles. Well I know I have booking powers but I have some big news for you fans out here…

I have just come back from the office of the "Board of Directors" and with the current situation the SCW is in right now they decided to shake some things up. So what they have done is named L.S. Dynamite the new CEO of the SCW..

So for now on they will be no more Commissioner LSD. You will now and forever address me as CEO LSD.

Oh and by the way for my first act as CEO of the SCW, the tag team match later tonight will now be a Tag Team Title Match…"

Folks, I've seen it a thousand times before and this is not the direction to go if the SCW is to end its downward spiral in the ratings!!

Second order of business....the recent flow of newcomers to the SCW. This could be a good sign for the SCW, but it could also be a sign of complete chaos and a loss of control by Edward Brown. A little over three months ago, the SCW witnessed the influx of newcomers and legends to the roster. Such names as Flair, Malkavian, Daymon, Spookmaster, etc. As a result, the ratings were at an all-time high, however, since the departure of these seasoned veterans, the SCW is at an all-time low. Perhaps these new and virtually unheard of talent could provide the boost in ratings that the SCW desperately needs. The first newcomer to the organization came in the form of MainFrame who boldly chose to attack ex-SCW Superior Champion, Mr. Everything. In a flurry, MainFrame had this to say....

"Mainframe: "You people want a word from me? I'm not really a fan of a camera listening to my methods behind my madness, and sh*t like this won't fly too long, but the point I wanted to make tonight went along smooth as silk, A to B. Everything felt why I should've been booked this card, and every after that. I'm not a dormant person, and if I'm not doing something that I'm assigned to, I'm going to do something that I'm not, paid or not paid to do it. The fans of SCW got the point, think I care? Not really, but did the locker room? Obviously. Hope you wake up soon Mr. E….."

Is this a sign of bravery or revolution against authority? Perhaps we'll be able to see his in-ring talent this Sunday in order to reinforce his words. In addition to the debut of MainFrame, Sunday Showtime proved to be the "rebirth" of ex-SCW Extreme Champion, Damian Stone who chose to make a statement by tearing through Marcus Wood and proclaiming war on Mr. Everything, Smoove, and SCW Superior Champion, DreamMaker. Stone claims that he can single handidly save this organization....

"So....for the time off I've had, I've watched this fed, the very fed that gave me the shot at doing what I do best start tumbling....Hell....spiraling out of control. Even with the great DreamMaker leading us into the new millenium, we are still being beat by that "other" company. Well.....

This, my friends and family, is a warning. Somewhere, either very soon or in the distance future, that World Champion is going to have to step up against the "Dangerous One." When that day comes, the blood will fly, the bones shall break, and there will be a new sherrif in town: one that carries a barb wire bat and one that doesn't take **** from anyone. So, DreamMaker, Smoove, Mr. Everything, this is your last warning. Because the next time I address this matter, it will be with this........ "

Although Stone is a proven competitor who can "talk the talk", he has yet to prove that he can "walk the walk". Some may call this wishful thinking, while others would label it as stupidity. Either way, Stone has drawn the line against arguably the three greatest wrestlers in the SCW. I only hope that he doesn't ultimately "hang" himself with that same line.

Next, as always, the antics of Bad Element have proven to entertain again. This quarter portion of Sunday Showtime was the highest in ratings, slipping past the main event by three whole points. With their backs against the wall, Bad Element remained calm and supplied the entire viewing audience with some "comic relief" as they revealled the "true identity" of Mystery Man 438....

If this is true, as Ric Samson stated, then I guess that means that Starman is Hi-Pitch Eric and Tommy Kain is Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf. All jokes aside, Starman and Mystery Man 438 were literally within inches of leaving that night as SCW Tag-Team Champions. Nevertheless, proving that he is still the main man in town, Edward Brown stripped the titles from Starman and Mystery Man 438 and rewarded them to Bad Element after a blown fall count by the referee. Perhaps the booking comittee should make the last half hour of Sunday Showtime a complete stand-up routine from Samson and Ruiz as that has proven to draw greater ratings than the matches booked by LSD thus far.

Finally, in perhaps the most unexpected move of the evening, members of the recently departed Perfect Circle showed up at ringside. However, "supporting" the organization, "Firebird" Fritz Von Michaels and Angel held up the following signs....

"Down with SCW" ….. "SCW is no place for good talent"

Although this is a bit of an overstatement, I must say that I agree with them a bit. For one, LSD continues to book Smoove and DreamMaker in the main event. Now don't get me wrong, without these two men, this company would be out of business, but in order to develop the new talent, the booking comittee has to realize that the main event needs to change from week to week rather than remaining the same. Folks, if something is done and done fast, then the Sunday Showtime may be soon replaced in its syndicated time slot by re-runs of "The Andy Griffith Show"!!

Now before I depart and send you on your viewing ways, lets take a look at what the "booking geniuses" in the SCW have come up with for us to watch this week. In addition, after sporting a 4-1-2 record last week, I'll attempt to continue my brilliant winning ways with chosing the winners for this week's matches as well....

Normal Match Tripp Collins vs. Coffee Man

Once again, we are in for another treat in the opening bout of the evening. What more can be said about Tripp Collins other than he should be the one with the extreme title wrapped around his waist? This man literally walked through Mr. Paugh last week and I'm sure we'll see more of the same this week. Although Coffee Man is one of the few entertaining spots in the SCW, I don't think he'll be enough for this SCW newcomer. My pick....

winner: Tripp Collins

Normal Match HenchMan vs. Allan Glass

All that I can say in this one is who and what? HenchMan is a formidable competitor, but who in the hell is Allan Glass? I'm not saying that HenchMan is main event material, but he's at least mid-card status. I'm willing to bet that LSD is sitting back and watering at the mouth for this one....perhaps a best out of 21 falls match or maybe the first man to walk down to ringside successfully without tripping. My pick....

winner: HenchMan

Normal Match MainFrame vs. "The Icon" Tyler Lee

MainFrame made a gutsy and somewhat foolish move last Sunday by targeting Mr. Everything upon arrival in the SCW. Although I'm sure we'll see a Mr. Everything cameo in this match, its inevitable that MainFrame will walk out of this one with an easy win over the virtually silent Tyler Lee. Don't be surprised if LSD makes Optimus Prime the special guest referee in this one. MainFrame and Mr. Everything....now that would be a match worth watching. My pick....

winner: MainFrame

Superior Television Title Match Starman vs. Mystery Man 438 (c)

One week they're a team and best of friends and the next week, LSD has them facing one another. I'm surprised that he didn't make this a triple threat match and add Tommy Kain to the mix. Who's for a Starman and Mystery Man 438 versus Bad Element rematch? I sure as hell am!! Nevertheless, this match will prove to be one of the more competitive of the evening, screw jobs aside. My pick....

winner: Mystery Man 438

Superior Extreme Title Match - No Interference - Barbwire Bat on a Pole Match Damian Stone vs. The Reaver (c)

In a triumphant return, Damian Stone proved to us last week that he's put on some muscle, grown a larger set of testicles, and completely lost his mind. On the other hand, The Reaver proved me wrong as he emerged from the four corners match as the new extreme champion. However, how long can he hold on to that title? Don't be surprised to see a few "calls" be answered which were put forth by Stone last Sunday. My pick....

winner: Damian Stone

Triple Threat Match Dallas Winston vs. King Buddy vs. "Sensational One" Jeff Kane

Okay, so last week we watched as King Buddy and Jeff Kane got beat by one man and now this week, they're the prelude to the main event....go figure!! King Buddy is mentally challenged, Jeff Kane is a has been, and Dallas Winston is a never was. Call me critical or ruthless, but until one of these men can prove me wrong, I'll continue to stick by my guns. I can see that I'll have to flip a coin for this one....hell, I may even win this match for all you know. My pick....

winner: King Buddy

Main Event Tag-Team Match Smoove & DreamMaker vs. Mr. Everything & "The Tru Nigg@" Marcus Wood

Finally, someone is listening to me around here. There's only one ingredient missing from this can't miss main event and that's Bad Element. Mr. Everything and Marcus Wood are a proven tag-team. However, can that be said for Smoove and DreamMaker? These two men have been at each other's throats for the past three weeks. If these two men can work as a cohesive force, then you could label them as one of the most dominant duos in the sport of wrestling as a whole. However, that's simply wishful thinking and I seriously doubt that we'll see that happen as long as one of them hold what the other wants....the superior title. My pick....

winner: Mr. Everything and Marcus Wood

And finally, this column couldn't be complete without your favorite section and mine....Lecompte's Top Five SCW Wrestlers....

5. Tripp Collins....I can't get enough of this hardcore kid and neither can the fans. If the SCW front office is smart, then they'll invest in this up-and-coming star.

4. The Reaver....hey, I can admit when I'm wrong....not!! True, he's a legend that returned and captured the extreme title, but with Stone and Collins on his heels, how long can he hold on to it?

3. Smoove....once again, this superstar kept the SCW "breathing" by putting on another stellar main event performance with his arch-rival, DreamMaker. Now the question is, can he replicate that performance with his arch-rival standing by his side?

2. Mystery Man 438 and Starman....these men share the #2 spot as they did what no other duo has been able to do thus far in the SCW and that's remove the tag-team championships from the waist of Bad Element. True, it was for a extremely short amount of time, but impressive nonetheless. Nonetheless, these two must turn around and face each other this week. One question looms over both of their heads....what's more important, friendship or the television title?

1. DreamMaker....yes, once again, the superior champion holds the #1 slot on my top 5. Along with the comedic antics of Bad Element, this man has single handidly carried the SCW since the departure of the Perfect Circle. I just can't wait until someone actually steps up and gives this man a challenge. Will Damian Stone be that man? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well folks, that's if for this week's edition of Lecompte's Look. And remember, if the New Orleans Saints can win a division title, then anything is possible!!

Until next time....
