Welcome back folks to the greatest and quite frankly, only professional wrestling sports column in the SCW!! Once again, the SCW bore the brunt of another dip in the ratings and was subjected to rebroadcasting the live show in various syndications all around the world. Its not looking good for Mr. Edward Brown and company. Nevertheless, as long as my paycheck continues to roll in, I'm going to do my job and that is....analyze the SCW....
First, I would like to cover the recent influx of newcomers to the SCW. It appears, that in a last ditch effort, Edward Brown has begun recruiting new members to the SCW ranks in an attempt to boost the ratings. Last week, we watched as the rookie, MainFrame boldly attacked SCW veteran, Mr. Everything and just like last week, he chose to do the same thing again this week. In my personal opinion, MainFrame has been impressive in and out of the ring, however, is he what this company needs right now? Can a rookie bolster the ratings and return the SCW to greatness? In retrospect, we also watched on as HEW legend, Michael Gettis made his debut in the SCW by attacking Marcus Wood. Does Brown think that Gettis can do for the SCW what he did for the HEW? Lets be honest folks, MainFrame is just to young and Gettis is not the champion that he once was. Furthermore, I do not see either of these men stepping up to the challenge of carrying this company on their back. Then again I may be wrong and I challenge both of these me to do just that....prove me wrong!!
Moving on, I would like to address the bold, but senseless challenge put forth by Damian Stone on the last card. In another attack on what seems to be everyone's favorite target as of late, Marcus Wood, Damian Stone challenged him to a barbwire/C4 explosive ladder match at the upcoming SCW February pay-per-view, "No Love Lost". Stone has already proved that he reigns supreme in the extreme division as he literally walked through The Reaver and recaptured the SCW Extreme Championship, however, can he step up to the challenge of overcoming the world heavyweight division? Well, in my first one-on-one SCW interview, I sat down with SCW Extreme Champion, Damian Stone and he had this to say....
_________________________________________________________________________
This week for Lecompte's Look, I decided to add a new feature...."One on One". This will be an occassional feature where I sit down with one of the SCW's superstars for an in depth look about the organization, their career, and their views upon various situations. My first guest is the two time SCW Extreme Champion and the self-proclaimed, "most dangerous man in wrestling", Damian Stone....
Lecompte: Thank-you for being apart of the column this week Damian.
Stone: No problem. I've always wanted to do a one-on-one interview.
Lecompte: Okay, the first thing that myself and the entire world wants to know is, what are your intentions in the SCW's World Title division? Do you plan to involve yourself in the current mixture of contender's that consists of Mr. Everything, Smoove, and superior champion, DreamMaker? We all know that you have a historical past which consists of bitter fueds with Mr. Everything, but the other two wrestlers are virtually unknown to you. Do you think that you're getting in too deep?
Stone: Too deep? Really? Nah. DreamMaker and myself go back. We know each other from other feds and from that show-stealing first round match from Messiah of the Mat when he took all I had...took the Southern Cross....but still won the match. Smoove, well, we worked together one time against Team Everything. We lost that match, but I gained some respect for Smoove....so technically, I know all three of these men well. Throw in Marcus Wood and you got yourself the five best men in the SCW wanting one thing: the World Title. So am I too deep? No.
Lecompte: How about the SCW's Extreme division? Its obvious that since Codine's departure and your recent absence, that this division just hasn't been the same as it used to be in the days of greats like Stalker. Do you think that The Reaver can fill the void left by Codine?
Stone: No....since what happened this week. I mean, this was a cakewalk. I walked in.....got the bat....beat the Hell out of Reaver with it....ending it with my Fire Thunder Driver finisher. If this man truly wants to lead the Extreme Division back to where men like myself, Kendall,Angel, and others have had it, then he must keep his head in the game. Only when that happens can a division like the Extreme Division have the talent it needs.
Lecompte: Well then, last week we all watched as you triumphantly returned to the ring by ripping through Marcus Wood. Its obvious that the current position of the SCW is poor to say the least. What are your thoughts about last week's show, as well as the effect of the departure of the Perfect Circle on the entire organization?
Stone: Let me see here...one man got a royal beatdown....twice, I got my shot at the Extreme Title...and seeing the Perfect Circle at ringside. That was my show last week. My thoughts? Well, Marcus had it coming. When I was put in the hospital from the mine exploison from my last match with Kendall Codine and the eye busting blow from Mr. E, the doctors there ran a test on "my" boy. When I found out it wouldn't be mine, I went ballistic. I went against the orders of the doctors and began trainning...trainning to kick Marcus's ass from here to kingdom come....and at "No Love Lost", I plan to do that...and more. Perfect Circle, well, that was their choice, and I have to respcet that choice. I did the same stunt in another fed long ago and now to see it done here, well, it seems so natural these days. I respect each individual in that group.......but......I do not respect the group as a whole....
Lecompte: With that said, what are your thoughts about this week's upcoming SCW Sunday Showtime?
Stone: DreamMaker, Stone, one-on-one.....go out tonight, buy a VCR tape and get it ready for Sunday Night. This should be a PPV calibre main event....and this could be the only time I face DreamMaker for the World Title. This is must-win-night for Damian, and he must win, period. Plus, add this to your plans, I know of a new tag team coming up that could rattle whatever Bad Element had in store for "No Love Lost".....I know, because.......well......I know.
Lecompte: Lastly, with rumors of J-Smooth, Irvin R. Simmons, and Paul Brisbin floating about, who do you think purchased the remaining 49% of the company? In addition, do you think that this purchase will affect the SCW's upcoming February pay-per-view, "No Love Lost"?
Stone: "No Love Lost" will be a big night for SCW. Either we pull out all the stops for this PPV, or we can watch this one proud fed turn into, well, nothing. NLL will be affected by whoever comes out with the 49% of the company. I also will see some big changes in how this fed could be run.....my pick on the new owner, Paul Brisbin. I would rather be under him than IRS....trust me.
Lecompte: Well thank-you for your time Damian and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Stone: Thank you......it has be a pleasure. Peace...........
_________________________________________________________________________
As you can see, Damian Stone believes that he is the SCW's next "chosen one" and if his confidence level remains the same, I believe that he is as well. Nevertheless, he has to prove that to the entire world first and he may just do that starting this week.
Lastly, I would like to address the recent war which has been boiling up between SCW newcomers, HenchMan and Michael Bright. Maybe this is what the SCW needs right now, a good old fashioned fued between two wide eyed rookies looking to make a name for themselves. HenchMan struck first by restraining Bright and placing him within a trunk. However, Bright retalliate by coming to ringside during HenchMan's match with Alan Glass and offering a challenge. HenchMan humbly accepted and now we can look forward to a culmination of heated exchanges between these two men. Perhaps this is what the SCW needs to boost its ratings, but then again, maybe its not....
Now, with last week's recap out of the way, its time to move on and take a look at this week's Sunday Showtime line-up. My record last week was 4-2-1, making my overall record 8-3-3....not bad if I say so myself. Lets take a look, shall we....
In a battle of the Michael's, the rookie looks to make his mark on this organization, while the veteran looks to take over this organization. Despite Bright's talent, I just don't think it will be enough to overcome the ex-HEW World Heavyweight Champion. My pick....
winner: Michael Gettis
This one should be a treat folks as we get to see Hector Ruiz in single's action once again. With respect to Bad Element as a team, Ruiz single's talent has always been overshadowed by that of Ric Samson. However, I think that it is time for him to shine because this man deserves a title shot. Before he can move on, Ruiz faces a formidable foe in the form of HenchMan. Don't be surprised to see a cameo appearance by HenchMan's "good friend" Michael Bright. My pick....
winner: Hector Ruiz
I'll be honest, MainFrame is my early pick for SCW rookie of the year. Nonetheless, he must keep a sound state of mind and continue to pay his dues which start in the form of Johnathan Leary. Will Leary pull the upset or can we account for seeing Mr. Everything taking both of these men out? My pick....
winner: MainFrame
I came to notice that Dallas Winston didn't think too highly of my opinion last week, stating that I would soon know who he was. Well guess what....I still don't!! Winston's win last week was a mere fluke and no matter how many lucky rabbit's feet he rubs, he won't be able to duplicate last week's outcome. My pick....
winner: King Buddy
This match has been much too familiar over the past month. These men have been back and forth with one another. Both of these men are craving what Tommy Kain has, but one of them must emerge victorious from this match first in order to have a crack at Kain. This match will be a close one, but I have a feeling that the Canadian flag may be hanging high by the end of the night. My pick....
winner: Tyler Stevens
Well, what does Jeff Kane have up his sleeve this week? Is it a win? God knows that he's in desperate need of one. Mr. Everything and Marcus Wood are a proven tag-team with plenty of experience within the squared circle working together. However, the world heard through the grape vine is that Mr. Everything has something planned for recent rookie sensation MainFrame....that is after he is through with Smoove and DreamMaker. My pick....
winner: Mr. Everything and Marcus Wood
This match should be a good one to cap off a sub-par evening at best. Odds are that Stone will attempt to make this his type of match and force DreamMaker to go hardcore. However, if DreamMaker's memorable extreme confrontation with Kendall Codine almost a month ago is any indication, then people would know that the superior champion is versatile. I'm looking forward to Stone stepping up and carrying the company on his back like he stated, but odds are that the burden is much too heavy for his shoulders. My pick....
winner: DreamMaker
And finally, everyone's favorite section of the column....Lecompte's Top Five SCW Wrestlers....
5. HenchMan....as of right now, this company has two promising rookies and he's one of them. His latest heated fued with Michael Bright proves to be a blockbuster for the undercard of the pay-per-view. However, with time and the right consideration from Edward Brown, this man could be headlining a pay-per-view and possibly even holding a major title.
4. MainFrame....as I said before, there are two promising rookies in this company and this is the other one. Its only a matter of time before he and Mr. Everything meet toe-to-toe within the ring. This rookie is on a rampage and look for it to continue for the next couple of weeks.
3. Damian Stone....he's returned folks and he's out for vengance. He recaptured the SCW Extreme Title with ease and now he's got his eyes set on the SCW Superior Title. However, you can bet that the competition he'll have to go through in order to get it is much harder than The Reaver.
2. Mystery Man 438 and Starman....once again these two men share a spot in Lecompte's Top Five. These two men not only proved their brilliance, but they also proved that they have a sense of humor by publically mocking recently departed Perfect Circle members Eli Flair and Kendall Codine. I've said it once and I'll say it again, these two men need to be put in the main event.
1. DreamMaker....this column has been running for three weeks now and he has captured the top spot each time. Can anyone remove him from the pedistal on which he stands? Here's a little hint Edward Brown....Ric Samson and Hector Ruiz are excellent single's wrestlers. Don't get me wrong, Mr. Everything, Smoove, and Damian Stone are at the top of their games, but their just not enough to dethrone DreamMaker. In the words of the late, great Owen Hart, its time for a change.
Well folks, that's if for this week's edition of Lecompte's Look. And remember, if LSD can become a CEO, then anything is possible!!
