Mandalorian Armor, The
Author: K. W. Jeter
Setting: Between ESB and
ROTJ
Series: Bounty Hunter Wars
(Book 1 of 3)
Rating: 2/5
Plot: The bounty hunter
Dengar finds a battered Boba Fett outside the Sarlacc pit while looking for
stuff. A slave girl named Neelah finds
herself drawn to Fett (not in any romantic way, that’d make the book
interesting). Meanwhile in a completely
different time Price Xizor is plotting to smash the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. Some stuff blows up, and the obvious is seen
once again. Don’t mess with Fett.
Review: I know I kinda
lacked a bit on the plot, but that’s the jist of it, unfortunately. Just goes to show how a good base idea can
be ripped apart by an author that was no skill doing it. The whole “NOW” and “THEN” parts of the book
can get confusing, and albeit needed, Jeter went about it all wrong. I
had hoped this book would be great after an hour of reading an hour of it I got
bored easily. Mind you, this was on a
British Airways flight to London from Philly, and the featured movie was
Titanic (I hate that movie, but found it much more interesting). The only consolation is that the sequels are
better (not much).
