Plot: The galactic civil war has seemed to tip in favor of the Republic, until an unseen and powerful foe emerges from the Unknown Regions: another grand admiral. Thrawn’s brilliance was so apparent that the Emperor had promoted him to Grand Admiral; even more stunning a fact due to Palpatine’s bias against aliens. But can the New Republic overcome this ingenious enemy once he commands the Imperial Fleet?

Review: There is one reason that I have to do so many damn reviews today, and that’s Heir to the Empire. Yeah folks, this one sparked the tremendous series of books that we all know and love. Now on to the review. What can I say? Zahn is the king of sci-fi, and every word makes it apparent as he takes us through a story like no other. The addition of Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, Thrawn, and Pellaeon was really awesome, and it’s great seeing them develop in the series. Space battles are great, land battles are jaw-dropping. Don’t consider yourself a fanfic reader or writer until you read this series.
